Instead of "During the meantime," you could have used EITHER "In the meantime," or "Meanwhile," instead. Oh, and don't get me started on the "ITs" (that should have been "It's" with a fraking apostrophe, because it's a CONTRACTION). This author completely fails at apostrophe placement (and writing in general).
