Bookmarked the direct link. The mobile version of the site has simpler access, however it appears to be broken. Selecting the status update takes you to the user's profile not the update itself.

Snoteye wrote a script that adds a "Friends" link between "Groups" and "About" in the navigation bar at the top. You can get it here: http://userscripts.o...pts/show/399583 It requires Greasemonkey, but if you don't have that yet, underneath the install button is a link to instructions.
