Well, I don't quite agree on the former, but like I said, I find it odd how my legacy in that locked thread apparently ended up being about what term best describes how BW presented the DA2 romances within (and outside) the game, when that's really merely a minor issue to me. If there hadn't been dev posts saying that certain LI's are gay or straight depending on the playthrough, and that we shouldn't let meta knowledge affect our immersion instead of feeling the universe...

crack at our Hawke's omnipotence changing characters' sexual orientation, that aspect would probably even be a non-issue to me other than Anders not acknowledging his feelings for Karl to a female PC.

That aspect -- encouraging players to believe actual bisexual characters to be gay or straight depending on playthrough -- is certainly badness. And wrong. It is bi-erasure at its finest. If a player wants to live in denial or headcanon their own thing, then whatever; but if devs say it officially, that is a big no-no.
