I tried to see if I could survive a bit longer in the snowpocalypse last night, and yeah, I just ended up dying faster. To be fair, I was attacked by a wolf, so I guess I had a legit excuse for doing worse. :P

Belated answer: yep, it's early access. I was trying out the sandbox mode on normal survival difficulty.
