UPDATE: Well, both the assignment e-mail AND the book cover (I took a look) indicate that this is non-fiction. However, I poked around in the database and saw this weird manuscript categorized as fiction. As a result, I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to find out if this author IS paranoid schizophrenic or if he's just a fiction author writing and incredibly weird novel about someone with paranoid schizophrenia (just e-mailed my boss and the AR to try to sort this out).

UPDATE 2: I just heard back from the AR who just got confirmation that the author says his work is non-fiction. Therefore, my initial comments about the author having an actual mental disorder stand. He...needs...help.

Meanwhile, I would dearly love to have a job where I don't have to deal with mentally unstable people who aren't receiving proper treatment for their illness(es).
