As soon as I see that f---ing E title assigned to me, I'm telling Cheri that I refuse to work on any of his titles ever again (and then I'm going to tell her exactly what just happened with him if she's unaware of what just went on). I'm done with flaky, egotistical lunatics who apparently don't even enter their own edits and THEN proceed to threaten me over what turn out to be completely imaginary issues.

Sounds to me like he couldn't find another publisher and has come crawling back. Good for you for taking a stand with him. A job is a job, but no one should have to put up with people like that. Hopefully your employer backs you up :)

Yeah, Cheri is pretty chill when I say that I can't work with author <x> and state why. I'm pretty sure she'll understand if she has not yet been told about what this author has been trying to pull.
