And in case anyone is curious, she could have (and should have) asked for all hyphenation to be turned off prior to formatting. At this point I can turn it all off, but she has to pay hourly for that because I will then have to readjust the entire book to repair all the changes to the layout/spacing that it will cause (you'd be surprised by how many spacing issues/problems can result from changes like this).

@puddi: *pat pat* Don't worry, you don't have to read anything that the scary, bad woman who writes scary, bad things writes ever again (probably). I will add one final thing: the bloody book IS justified (it's left-justified alignment specifically, just like you see in every other English-language novel on the planet), so her request is doubly dumb.

What kind of justification change am I supposed to make that WOULDN'T look stupid at this point? Plain left alignment where the right-hand side remains ragged? Plain right alignment where everything is pushed to the right-hand margin and the left-hand side is now ragged? *headdesk x infinity over this author's stupidity* P.S. A justification change would NEVER resolve her issues with hyphenation. :P
