would now like to scream at her latest illiterate black author over her overusage of ellipses, her bad punctuation, her typos, and her mangled dialogue (and her generally terrible writing).

I hope you don't think I'm sounding like some racist here. Again, there are many black authors whom I very much respect - it's just that whenever I end up with a book in the urban fiction/urban romance genre, the writing, punctuation, and grammar are ALWAYS bad, and the author is, yes, an African-American female (except for the occasional male authors like the accursed De'Lure).

@Alan: You have no idea how many times I wish I could take someone's terrible manuscript and just burn it to save readers from their horrible writing. Unfortunately, it's self-publishing, so the company will accept anything no matter how bad it is. Some manuscripts are so bad that I just want to cry.

Also, while writing my e-mail to the AR (author rep) about this whole mess, I pointed out the errors and suggested that the author pay for professional editing. Realistically speaking, there is literally no way on earth that an author who has proven to be THIS bad is ever going to be able to edit her own work and fix her ten million errors.
