If you just click on your profile, then PROFILE FEED, then scroll down and click ALL UPDATES and then on the grey bar at the top you'll see FRIENDS' UPDATES or ALL UPDATES. Use those and you'll see what people are posting. If you go to your profile settings and change all your notifications to on, you'll also get little red updates in the right hand corner.
