A colleague of my husband used to live in Pretoria. We asked her if it was really as dangerous as Pistorius made out. She said right before she moved to England, she was tied up at gunpoint in her home whilst it was burgled. So...
That said, people walk around lobbing heads off here with knives.

yeah it happens.. the other night i heard someone fire off two gunshots and then someone wailing in some sort of agony/shock. it's disturbing. a previous colleague of mine was also tied up in her house, they held a gun to her head and stole their stuff.. it hasn't happened to me and my family yet :/ sick world we live in, has always been... disgusting.
