My first one died also but half way through the grey xbox life cycle they changed the motherboards in them so on the back of each 360 there is a date, if it is Feb 2010 or later it has a jasper motherboard. Mine second one is still going strong 4 years later. Why Microsoft didn't go with them to begin with I don't know but the amount of returns in the first 4 years must have been astronomical.

same thing here smeckie - my old Pro got the 3 rings (while I was playing ME1 a lot lullz - pretty sure all the loading screens melted the thermal paste right off the gpu). it was within the MS 3 year policy and they sent me a Jasper Arcade and it's been going strong for 3 or 4 years too KNOCKING ON ALL THA WOOD THINGS
