SQL isn't actually that hard. You can certainly write unreadable queries, but the basic stuff (selecting columns, subsetting based on conditions, joins and merges) you can get your head around pretty quick. The syntax is roughly English-like, which helps a lot. Compared to C-based languages and their punctuation marks everywhere, it's almost simple.

So, I was saying... don't be discouraged by job reqs. Analytics skills seem to be in short supply compared to SQL/database skills, so you'd have an advantage there.
