If you can get hold of a copy "Reagan, Bush, Gorbachev: revisiting the end of the Cold War" by Graebner it covers the end of the Cold War from a US point of view. There's also a book on Russian foreign policy by Mike Bowker which is quite good. To really get to grips with the geopolitical stuff of the region though (as that's at the core of the Crimean conflict) I cannot recommend "Geopolitics reframed: security and identity in Europe's eastern enlargement" by Merj...
