Such a tragedy. I hope at least the awareness on suicide and depression it brought will make a difference.

Well, there was a little more to it. As it turns out, he had been diagnosed with early stage Parkinson's disease. In this case, I don't think it was depression. I think it was a desire not to live out his final years as an invalid.
