The PS4 wireless controller is on Bluetooth. I have a Kindle Fire HDX. All I had to do is take my controller and hold down the share and PS buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds. The lightbar will start rapidly flashing white. Then go into your bluetooth settings and it'll find the wireless controller. To undo it, plug the controller back into the USB port on the PS4.

Only downside is that there is a little bit of button lag, but as long as you're not playing an action game it isn't a huge deal.

I use my PS4 controller to play Skyrim on my laptop. Have to keep it plugged in, but the upside is that if I have Netflix on in the background, I can just unplug the controller from my laptop, turn it on, and change what I want to watch before turning it off, plugging it back in, and getting back to slaughtering things in less than a minute :P
