I hope so. this new one has a heat-sink only instead of a fan, I may need to add another fan (I have one, it is not hooked up right now)

That will be more than enough, I pretty much guarantee it. That is exactky what my former video card was, and I only upgraded to the 3gb because of the dev programs I run for school. You'll be fine. :D
