This is driving me crazy! So I am trying to play ME1 on my mac (bootcamp) & I keep having this problem when I attempt to create a character. At the facial reconstruction part, when I try to finalize my character (by pressing the finalize button) the button does not work and it keeps going back to a different feature to customize (ex. facial structure). Ask a mod hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha (evil laugh) Sorry couldn't help myself. I had this glitch on my 360 long ago. I rebooted the game and started over have you tried that?

Yea I've tried that but it didn't work. I've uninstalled & reinstalled the game too. I bought and downloaded the trilogy off of origin. I never had any problems on my 360 version of the game, just this version. I contacted ea support & they couldn't help. I googled and saw other people had the same problem, but they never really found a solution, or if they did, it didn't work for me.
