I've noticed alot of people say that there is a Dex bug on the PS3.
What exactly is the bug, I've played a DW warrior in my first playthrough of DA:O ( way back in Nov) and I didn't really notice anything, and my recent PC was a 2H warrior. I'm just curious as to what the bug is and what it does.
Thanks! - Rob
P.S. Unlock the saves!!!
PS3 Dex issue?

For things like daggers and arrows, each point of dexterity is supposed to increase damage by 0.5.
But it's not actually adding any damage.
So if you have, say, a duel dagger wielding rogue built around a dexterity build, you end up being somewhat gimped in combat (though there are alternative builds that are very viable).
Likewise, an archery focussed build becomes less effective as well (again, depending on your other talent choices).
Where people get steamed is this was specifically fixed in the PC 1.02 patch.
The console versions were *supposed* to have been shipped with all patches up to 1.02 PC (so PC 1.02 = Console 1.00), but that particular bug still exists.
Other bugs supposedly fixed in PC 1.02 and earlier might as well, but this Dex one is easily identifiable, as you can do a level up, pump your dexterity by 3 points and see right on your character screen that your damage hasn't changed at all.

I see, that sucks, I'll be using daggers, but only until I'm able to wield 2 full size weps.
Thanks for the response Pub, I hope they fix the issue, that sucks!

No worries.
For my rogue character, I went with a cunning based duel dagger wield.
Focussed on getting Lethality and Momentum for talents... and I couldnt' complain.
That guy went through enemies like a Slap Chop through green peppers.
I seem to notice the issue more with archers, since the archery talents require pretty high dexterity stats that just aren't getting the bang-for-the-buck that was intended.

Every point invested in dexterity is also supposed to raise ranged attack score by one, correct? It's not doing that; does anyone know if they fixed that in the PC version as well?

I have friend that play the PC version and it is fixed. I was waiting for awaken to have this fixed, really disappointed that it was not. My problem is this has really made playing archerey confusing and gimped. Also, it is inconvinent to have to pretty much play without archery. Having tried to play the game with an Archery, difficult level did get to be too much. I guess resign myself to find another way to play the game, since this seem to be something that is never going to be fixed.

Yeah that sucks, if it's been around since launch, why hasnt bioware been able to fix it?
I'm sure theres an excuse just like with the saves being locked!

given their history, they'll likely just blame sony for the bug not being fixed.

yeah, Origins has been out for about 5 months now, it would really nice to have these bugs fixed. I sure would like to be able to use crossbows and do more than 10 damage.

Yeah, for a game being out So long and no fixes yet, it's just ****ed up!\\
If it takes this long to fix bugs from DA:O, then the bugs is Awakening will be fixed while we're playing DA2

it's just a number tweak in the spreadsheet, wonder what's taking them so long....
my rogues are now like terrorists, ditching the combat talents for more useful trap and bomb-making....

My rouge is around 51 Dex, 40 odd cunning. Using far song and normally get around 60-70 when firing a normal arrow. Arrow of slaying so far in the 400's.
When using duncans sword and dagger around 40-50 per hit.
