When I’m not connected to Xbox Live, my save game data for Awakening won’t load. It goes to the loading screen for a couple of seconds then reverts to the main menu and a dialog box pops up saying that I don’t have the correct DLC items, it says that I don’t have the Amulet of the War mage and the dagger called ‘Edge’ downloaded to my hard-drive.
 
I know I have these items, when I put in the Origins disk and look at the DLC, it says that I’ve downloaded them, but I haven’t acquired them in-game.
 
So long as I’m still signed into live and connect to the internet, I have no problem loading and playing my files on Awakening.
 
Should I just delete the two weapons from my hard dive and hope that lets me play my Awakening disk without being on Live? Or is there another solution?

You are likely missing licenses for those items and the game can't reach the DA servers to authenticate them for you. Unfortunately, securing licenses for offline play requires you to connect to the DA servers. More details are available in the following discussion thread:
