ME 2 Romance & Rejection

Anyways one of my Shepards romanced Liara in ME1.
I'm just curious in Mass Effect 2 (TWO) whether if I romance someone and we get all the way to the bedroom and I REJECT this person. Will I still be able to carry on my ME1 romance with Liara.
I ask only because I've seen the picture turned face down when you reach the end of the dialogue options and have committed to an individual. However if you break it off before going thru the relay the picture is turned back up.
However I want to know if the person is in the room and you choose to not have sex with the ME2 romance individual will the picture of Liara be up after the suicide mission is over?
Please if anyone from Bioware is reading this I'd really like a firm answer...

If you sleep with your LI and they subsequently die on the suicide mission, the picture remains face down.

You romance the person in 2, get them into your room, REJECT them, do the final mission, AND THEN WHAT happens next is what I want to know.....
Will the picture of your ME1 love interest be UP or DOWN?

If you know something it would be a lot more helpful to just say it rather than waste my time.

And I'll be honest your first sentence doesn't make much sense....
"I thought was stuck on one of the new relationships even though I had stayed faithful since I couldn't progress a conversation. "
Sorry but you don't address whether you had a romance in ME1. Who you romanced in ME2, how far you got, if you rejected them in the bedroom/apartment, and whether the picture was back up after the suicide mission (since you rejected them).
It's my hope that this is the case. Since you technically didn't sleep with them....
I guess the only way I can find out is to do a speed run. I had hoped that there were enough members on the official board that someone perhaps by chance did the exact thing or had the same questions regarding the romance subplot....

Hahaha. How'd you manage to get 50 hours out of one playthrough? Even on insanity.

I like to listen to all the dialogue and explore every nook and cranny. Plus I mine too explore every single star system and I waste time reading the lil blurbs about them.
Not to mention side quests, etc. etc...
Anyways I think I"m gonna forget about it.

It may all depend on how ME3 romance is triggered. It could be that if pic goes down at all that will trigger unhappy things w/ ME1 romance. Just speculation, though.

I don't know about the picture... since *my canon* Shepard has no sex with his subordinate marines and picked up Liara too late to romance her...
I romanced Miranda in ME2 and rejected her crazy invitation to the engine room 2 hours before hitting the O-4 gate... But after the "suicide mission" I'm still able to invite her to my quarters. So I think it still counts as a successful completion of the romance plot. Also it seems to give you the "paramour" medal, although I am not sure.

I just wonder if rejecting has an impact on how the LI sees you. In this case Liara still smooched Shep in Illium. So, i have the feeling that rejecting (during the last scene) makes no difference at all.

The romance with Liara from ME1 will carry onto ME3 regardless of whether you romanced anyone in ME2. I'm also inclined to think that rejecting your love interest in the bedroom does not end the romance. However, Bioware has said there will be consequences for romancing someone in Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2. I'd suggest either replaying Mass Effect 2 before importing to Mass Effect 3, or dumping whoever you romanced in Mass Effect 2.TheAzureVanguard wrote...

Rejecting Miranda, Jacob or Thane seems to not 'end' it properly, but rejecting Jack, Tali or Garrus is a full break up, as far as I can tell.
If you don't get someone 'all the way to the bedroom' (ie: have no ME2 LI,) you still get a pre O-4 scene, if this makes a difference. It's short, but sweet. Maybe you should either not romance, or break it off before hitting O-4. (I have no idea what happens if you have NEVER had an ME LI).

There's something called continuing the game. The credits give you that option... just go back to your quarters and see.

As for the other replies some people have hit it close to home but not quite the exact scenario I'm interested in. The closest was the guy who did the deed.
I'm just wondering if instead of sleeping with the ME LI you rejected them (in the bedroom...I'm NOT talking about their normal location in the Normandy). What is status of the picture of Liara from ME1 after the suicide mission should you choose to continue to explore the galaxy.
That's really all I want to know.
Anyways I know the ME1 romance will play a role regardless of what you do in ME2 but the devs have said that if you betray your ME1 romance that their will be consequences and if the picture is turned face down then I assume that the game and save file will record it as Shepard having betrayed his or her ME1 love interest.
That's why I'm curious to know if I romance Jack all the way to the bedroom and instead of sleeping with her I reject her and send her crying will the picture of Liara be turned back up or will it still be face down?
Like another person said I'm inclined to believe that it will still be face down (even though Shepard will not have slept with Jack). But at the same time I hear various takes on the matter.

Hmmm.
Sounds like you may need to bite the bullet, save immediatly before the scene, and see what happens after. The O-4 you can do in about 35 mins, if you know what's coming, so if it hasn't gone the way you want, it's not a massive replay. Also, I love the suicide mish.
Sorry I can't help you.

I have a (somewhat) similar question- In my most recent Mass 1 playthrough, I decided to mix it up and save Ash instead of Kaidan. I didn't know that would trigger a romance confrontation, but sure enough en route to the Mu Relay she shows up and starts talking like I was romancing her. I turned her down, but in this character's Mass 2 playthrough, there's a holo-picture of her lazy-eyed mug on Shep's desk. Does that mean I romanced her?
You can't ruin it after the locker scene when the Normandy is locked down, you can tell her to go away and you'll never see her again.

1) Have my Renegade Shepard do a one night stand with Jack and call it a night.
2) Decline and truly Romance her. THEN reject her in the bedroom scene right before the Omega 4 Relay/Suicide Mission. Then after that's complete go look at the status of Liara's picture in the Captains Quarters.
I'm gonna be really care with the saves so I can go back if it doesn't end up the way I want it to.

In ME2 you will have a picture of Liara / Ashley on your Desk if in ME1 on of them came to see you near the locker. Even if you turn her off, she will be on your desk because the game think you reject her for the good of the mission or because you don't want Ashley or Liara to suffer if you die... (even if you can't)
Basicly you need to end the relation before hitting the MU relay and the locker scene.
At least, on the Xbox 360 version you need to do this. I have pass another full playthrough with my character because i didn't want to have any romance in the first one.

eat your cake and have it too? can't happen. and getting as close to the puddin without getting any mush on ya is just plain massochistic.
It's cruel but I'm curious as to what (if any) effects it might have on ME3. To have toyed with a crew member but not gone "all the way"
Plus I hate Jack but I'm keeping her in 2 of my playthrus just cuz she is powerful and I figure I'll need all the help I can get in the 3rd one given that massive Reaper fleet that's approaching....
Jacob is so useless that I almost wish I had killed him in all my playthroughs but somehow he's gonna be alive in 4 out of the 5.
