Your kidding right? Tali is a lust interest and Miri is a love interest. The conversations with Miri are alot deeper then Tali >_>
You got to know Tali through two games, became friends with her. Miranda consistantly treats you more like a teammate and less like a friend, even when you do romance her. So, I don't see your side of the argument, aside from your preference for Miranda.
I romanced all three options in my play throughs and prefer Liara. So, I'm as objective as it gets.
Miranda, Jacob and Thane are definitely Lust interests. Just look at the romance scenes. Miranda wants to have sex someplace kinky. Jacob's all suave and playboy, very shallow. Thane's got the pity element, screw him before he dies and the romance scene revolves around that.
Garrus, Tali and Jack...all awkward..all emotional. No lust there, just butterflies. And you don't get butterflies from lust.
Your kidding me right. Tali says right to Shepard she wants his skin on hers. Ya thats not lusty. Miri never says anything along that line. Jacob and Tali are the worse. Tali's is just creepy, and speak for your self about butterflies. Why won't people just expect (including Tali fans) that some people perfer other romances and the only real lust romance is Jacob, thats it. Thane has tears for crying out loud, if you pick the right dialog for Miri you would see it's not about love. Having re-did Garrus it's not causal. Jack like Thane breaks down, tho it's more intense with Jack. Tali's romance dialog is creepy and theres many lines like Jacob that sound more like lust.
Tali fans don't want to admit it, Talis romance was very bad. It could have been very good like Garrus but it was not. Jacob and Talis romances where rubbish in my mind.
except that skin touching means something entirely different for her. With a human skin touching means almost nothing besides sex, with quarians if you touch skin with someone you either really trust them enough to risk your life for them or you are about to die and it doesn't matter whether you get infected. Linking suits is a gesture of trust and acceptance (something anyone who talked to tali should know) and it trancends what humans can imagine something so simple could mean.
Her romance was about trust and love, with some attraction mixed in there. Jack's is totally paragon and all about saving someone from themselves. Miranda's (which I did by the way) was about sex with a little bit of attraction thrown in. Why do you think you screwed her in the F-ing engine room? None of the other LI do something kinky like that, all the other romances take place in the captains cabin, and two (most likely three) of them don't ever progress all the way to sex at all. Tali can't have sex with you because she could die with all that exposure no matter how many antibiotics she takes, garrus says to you he isn't attracted to humans just you and as far as I know you don't even kiss, and Jack goes straight from kissing to cuddling, possibly bypassing sex entirely.
To say that Miranda's romance is the only non-lusty romance out of all of them is just ignorant and lazy. If you haven't seen the other romances watch them on Youtube, don't make blind assumtions about them.
If you did watch them on youtube them I honestly have no idea where you are coming up with your opinion.
One thing I neglected to mention, if you thought that I thought that the tali romance was deep then you're wrong, I don't. She had what, like six lines of dialog? very shallow in the depth sense. I do think that her romance was more genuine than the miranda one. Her feeling were more established, more realistic I thought. I mean, if you met a guy that had killed more people then you've ever met, would you go from meeting him to sex/relationship in a couple conversations? If I were a woman I wouldn't, heck no.
With the tali and garrus romances you get more depth to their motivations. They saw already how honorable shepard can be. They have seen him in action from a distance, without the possibility of a relationship clouding their judgment. They formed their opinions already, which is why their romances seem more realistic. They are long time friends it could be said.
