I've created a good twenty people so far and every time I think I should put a tattoo on because they're there for a reason. But then I put the tat on and I just don't like it. Not that the ones that are there aren't cool I guess I'm just not a huge fan of facial tattoos. And a lot of the faces look to nice to muck up with tattoos, imo.

What do you all think? Tat or no tat?

I'm not a fan. I've never really been a fan of facial ink, but I did use one on my mage. Scars would be a nice alternative, though not sure I'd use those either.

Some people it fits, others it doesn't. For lore reasons all my dwarf commoners and dalish elves have tattoos, but I have put tattoos on two of my city elves, too. If you don't like them, don't bother. I find lowering the intensity and changing the color helps a lot, though.

Some faces will benefit from a tattoo, some won't. Also creator preference.

Same here, Also tat's are a gimmick - however delightfully they are i find that if i add tat's to all my characters i get bored with them.

I'd honestly prefer a good scar over a facial tattoo any day of the week. I just don't find them particularly attractive.

Normally I tend to not care much for tattoos, but out of the 8 characters I've created with the intention of someday playing them... only one does not have a tattoo, because I didn't think the look she had would only be ruined by a tat.

The other 7, though, look pretty great with their body/face art.

I enjoy body art, but to use a facial tattoo really depends on the character. I like to be true to the lore, so I at least put tattoos on my Dalish and dwarven commoner players. I put a tattoo on my human noble as well because it just seemed to fit, but all my others are tattooless.

Body art would have been preferred by me too, but I guess it's impossible the way the armors seem to be rigged to cover or replace the body.

My dalish and city elves have tattoos but that's all, I made a dwarf noble and she won't have them either. I agree it fits certain types of characters but not most. It makes the characters seem more exotic I guess.

I put tattoos on my characters when it is appropriate, such as for my Dwarf Commoner and my Dalish Elf. Every other character has no tattoo.

I'd prefer scars too. I haven't the slightest clue as to what the meanings are to any of these tats. I did go ahead and slap one on my dwarf given his background, but I might change that.

Same here, I generally like tattoos although facial ones like we get in the CC really do depend on the character, sometimes it fits with the background and sometimes it might just look right or not.

Although more of my characters do sport them than not.

oh and /agree for scars like in ME, scars are more personal than any tattoo

I am not a big fan of facial tats but like other have said I have them on my Dwarf commoner and Dalish. I did however use them on one other character as I like to have a little story on characters I create. My mage has the one tat that is only on the one side of the face on the underside of the eye. A "permanent tear" of sorts

Don't give your character a tattoo for no reason. Ask yourself if that particular character would actually have a tattoo. If so, for what reason?

Even though 2 out of the 3 characters that I have uploaded have tattoos, they're the only ones out of my six origin characters that I have planned that'll have tattoos.

I made about 4 characters so far, two of them are dalish elves, one of them has a tattoo the other one doesn't. I think that they both look cool, but in two very different ways, characters with out tattoos looks very natural beautiful, while the ones that have tattoos look really unique and interesting.

I like tat, but the CC reset problem just bothers me too much, so I stick to default

IRL I hate tattoos, even though there are a few exceptions when I find it sexy, I still think no tat is better. But in-game it looks cool and has no effect on my char's life so I use 'em.

yes, the reset thing bothers me as well, I'm glad it just happened to my dalish elf, though

if the character looks cool with it, like it added some personality to them, I put a tatto on them. But most of them don't look better with it, so, I just won't use it.

Same for me. Tattoos must add something, not hide an unfinished face.

Some characters they work and others they don't... It would be nice to know if the tattoo's meant something.. like protection or power or good fortune or something like that. I guess if they look like they mean something for that particular character then they make sense.

I found most of them to be too much "in your face" ( pun intended ). But the one my avatar has is interesting enough to add some character to the face, but not too dominant. A bit tinkering with the colour and the intensity made it fit quite well, IMO.

For me it depends on the character on elves & common dwarfs yes I'd often got for them because they make sense particularly with the dalish elves & common dwarfs.

Final anlysis if I think a tatoo suits I'll go for it.

All my chars have tats.

I think tats works best if you reduce the intensity right down.

edit - Hopefully this works (all my chars - http://social.biowar...&nid=2298877396)
