 Oh shi......
South Korean ship sinks near North Korea, cause is not yet known, but a large explosion happened UNDER the ship, suggesting a torpedo or shell struck the vessel.
So here we go, hold on to your butts gentleman, we're in for one hell of a ride. A SOUTH KOREAN SHIP doesn't just blow up ON IT'S OWN near NORTH KOREAN WATERS.

Just fyi NK threatened the use of nuclear weapons earlier that day after learning that US, South Korea, China, and Russian where making crisis plans. What was being planned was that when the NK goverenment desablises due to the death of Kim Jong'il, which is possible in a couple years due to his suggested condition, that nukes maybe used during the power struggle, even on outsiders not part of the power struggle.

The world is ending on 12/21/12, not sure that's enough time for a world war, we're going to need at least 4 years. Can someone push back the date of armageddon?

I'm pretty sure WW3 doesn't consist of every free country gangbanging North Korea.

Well current intell puts NK nuclear arsenal around 12 warheads most likely only in the kiloton range. These would be around the same yeild as those using in WW2, not the modern Thermal Nuclear which uses deuterium and tritium, Hydrogen isotopes, that encase weaponized plutonium core. The core is put under pressure via chain reaction which heats the isotopes which being reacting and generating massive amounts of thermal energy. This amount of thermal energy will actually break down the plutonium and will most likely not leave much in the way of radiation. Here is a link for more info http://en.wikipedia....Nuclear_weapons . But I have a feeling that if NK used the warheads on a multistage missile the US which already has moved ABL systems over to the area the missile will likely not leave NK airspace before being shot down. ABL systems link here http://en.wikipedia..../Airborne_Laser . These systems have a classifed range but it is commented that the range is in the Hunders of Kilometers.

North Korea likes to gamble with outdated technology. I think Kim Jong'il is upset about his portayal in Team America. He usually lives up to it.

While checking the BFBC2 boards I happened to come across a link to a site that has blast radius estimites on different Nukes. http://www.carloslabs.com/node/16 Fat man was the largest of the two nukes used in WW2 and was the first to use Plutonium, where as little boy use uranium. Next to the drop down box gives a little history on the weapon system selected.

Kim Jung Il will use his heaven born powers to call upon the wrath of the stars on all those who do not kneel before him and accept Juche, the only true way to live.

All hail the dear leader!

In all seriousness, I wouldn't worry much about North Korea. Last I checked the nation cannot even feed it's own people.

I'm reminded me of that one war motto..."no food no fight."

It makes sense.

Stans going to come lockdown the thread soon.

That said, WW3 won't happen for a long long while. Lets suggest for a moment that war dose break out in the Korean penensila. It would take multiple counties to start a world war, and at the moment the US dose'nt have the balls to put more troops into a conflict then those already stationed there.

And the only other counties getting involved would be Japan, China or the former Soviet Union. And China is even more capitalist then we are at the moment; and all things considered the administration in the WH is more likely to sympithise with the Communists then South Korea.

Well let's not forget when a country starts war, they make more. USA is STILL in Arabian territories. Cuba is close to USA and a good time to unleash the nukes the Soviets left there. Venezuela would jump in to help Cuba and call them ****s for not inviting them. Canada would just ignore everything with an "We're Canadian, eh". Russia, Czech, and other ex-soviets would be in the "blame light". Then the supporting members of Europe would come out. Thus WW3, Nuclear Genocide starts...

No. Cuba isn't as stupid as North Korea, Russia has it's own issues to worry about and there's no reason for them to even consider moving against the western states. Besides, they're part of the UN. Venenzuela wouldn't join in because the war has nothing to do with them and regardless the US wouldn't leave themselves completely defenseless and Canada would mobilize with the States against the threat. I doubt even China would aid North Korea, seeing as there's already quite a bit of tension between them because they've got their nukes aimed at 'em.
Regardless, I doubt we'd see the Western powers intervene in a major sense. Our forces would be spread too thin across both the Middle East and a retaliation against North Korea.

Russia isn't stupid, they'll be in the spotlight for not taking the nukes from Cuba. Cuba right now is a bit hungry for war. Venezuela would join if Cuba acted. Anyways Canada might aid but they wouldn't like it. Canada doesn't like joining other people's problems. Anyways that was a list on possibilities.

And if North Korea attacks... with nukes! This gets the attention of the whole world.

North Korea can hardly support it's infrastructure, let alone have ICBMs is laughable at best. The only countries in danger of their nukes are Japan, China and Korea. And launching nukes at ANY of them would be the worst mistake they'd ever make.

If north korea is going to attack anyone the entire world would gang up on them. Kim jong il is a fat bastard waiting to be slaughtered like a pig and obama is going to eat him for his well balanced breakfast.
