Obama and kim jong il circle each other holding a sword in their right hand:

Obama lunges swinging his sword about hits kim jong il:22 damage

kim jong il throws his sword at Obama stabbing him in his leg: 48 damage

Obam dragging himself back up with 2 swords now jumps in the air and spins towards kim jong il Stabbing him several times: 100000000000 Damage. kim jong il now lays in a pool of his own blood

and with his last breath mutters "damn you mr. black president...." and with that Obama cuts of his head.

The only way anything comes from this is if North Korea escalates the event with another attack. I'd be shocked if South Korea actually used this for grounds for breaking the ceasefire. And even more shocked if Obama let them.

We should of finished off North Korea a long time ago.

We tried but the war ended in a stalemate. When the PLA came in the storm got even worse and both sides had to withdraw.

SithLordExarKun is right about the First war with NK, which techicial never actually ended, it ended was more of a cease fire agreement that lasted for decades. The only reason the war came to a draw was due to China intervining, which now I bet they regreat dearly. Its the problem with short term thinking some times need to be done or just put up with in the short term to have a better long term.

I am sure they regret helping NK.

In fact if the North Koreans could see the future in the past, they would have turned against the NK government after realizing that in the future they don't have a choice.

I'm well aware that we tried, but we've had 50 years. At any point we should of done it.

We should of dropped the nuke on them like MacArthur (That was it right?) wanted. Could of been a potentially disastrous precedent, or it could of ended a lot of communists rebellions before they began (and thus saved tens of millions of lives).

North Korea was an ally of both China and the Soviet Union during the cold war, as such it would not have been responsible to drop a nuke on an ally of a nuclear super power due to MAD(Mutual Assured Destruction). It's a good thing the the neocon idiots who represent the American political right today weren't in charge during the cold war. Otherwise we would've certainly seen World War III.
As it stands today. North Korea is not a threat. They have no allies and even China would turn against them if they were to start a war with anybody.

The Korean war is the only time American and Soviet soldiers ever faced off against each other.  It is a very fortunate thing that the war ended in stalemate before we saw greater Soviet involvement.  A war with the Soviet Union would've killed hundreds of millions of people.
Apparently republicans think that is a fair price to pay to show off our American machosim to the communie scum.

No I believe he wanted to nuke China.  We promptly defeated the NK in that war pushing refugees into China.  China told the US to stop their offensive because they didn't want the influx of refugees, but the offensive didn't stop and China invaded NK pushing the US back to the border.

Nice to see someone who is well versed in history.  I'd also add that the Korean war was the beginning of the Sino-Soviet split which happened in the post Stalin years.
The Soviet Union and China were both competing to win over the support of North Korea as a potential ally.

While this is technically correct, it isnt the whole truth. First off, it was an UN offensive (back and largely support by the US). Secondly, The UN forces got throughly spanked by the giant amounts of chinese cannon fodder that they got pushed back further south than what is now the DMZ.
You are right in saying that the Korean War was the beginning of the Sino-soviet split. However, the soviet union was only backing NKorea because it directly opposed the UN forces. This is the essence of the cold war. SU and USA going toe to toe through lesser countries.
back on topic, NK doesnt stand a chance in this day and age. It has few allies and few weapons. it would not start WW3, more a systematic destruction of NK as a country by the UN

Its both.  In his book "Reminiscences" he discusses wanting to use nuclear weapons on targets both in China and in North Korea, as well as using the fallout to cut off Chinese supply lines.  Either target would of been effective in ending the war.  It was the Joint Chiefs who drafted orders to authorize nuclear weapons against Chinese targets.

Also: That may be the cover for why China intervened, but declassified telgrams show that both NK and the SU made requests for China to intervene, and it was these requests that lead to China agreeing to intervene (Stalin insisted that if the Americans were allowed to defeat the North Koreans it would have "disasterous" effects on the revolution in the Far East.  Which it would have).

Most Americans, especially politicians, couldn't find Canada on a map. We're safe in Canada.
