The Extranet is basically the result of a joke thread from another website, where posters wondered, "What if the ME Extranet is just like today's internet? What if a bunch of aliens and humans were sitting around all day sending messages under ridiculous pseudonyms and discussing how the newest Blasto Movie couldn't hold a candle to the original trilogy or how that Salarian email scam cost the Council millions of credits?"

The Extranet is a very small and extremely liberal role play community that's just getting off the ground. With no practicing standards for our role play community, we're looking for the curious and the laid back amongst everyone who'd enjoy playing around in a completely free environment with a different mentality toward role play. A sort of sandbox for the Mass Effect universe, where different ideas, characters, situations and events can be immediately explored without stuffy regulatory rules. A playful and comedic gathering of fans that is at times awesome and at other times is almost horrifying. All ideals, characters, and role playing types are welcomed and supported.
It has a few peripheral attachments such as a dedicated forum for roleplaying, but is first and formost a method of exploring the universe by playing it's characters in a web-setting--so you'll be posting as characters who are posting as themselves on a ficticious forum, from the mass effect forum.
Pretty nifty, eh? We hope to have caught your eye with our passing advertisement, we'd love to see what people from different backgrounds would do with the idea!
So, to the Krogan Warlords, the Asari Lovers, the Salarian Scientists, Volus Entrepeneurs, Elcor poets, Turian Renegades, Batarian Slavers, Quarian Engineers, Raloi Explorers amongst you- welcome.

I should probably add that we've attracted a decent amount of artists and shoopers-- which combined with our zany take on the ME universe, has resulted in some very amusing adventures.
Hope to hear from some of you!
