I should first say that I do not wish any ill-will toward Tali, as I find her character to be one of the richest in the Mass Effect Universe. But what I am talking about is how her face should be revealed to the audience, regardless of your feelings (or lack thereof) toward her.
I know some cringe when we hear others mention that ME2 is the "Empire Strikes Back" edition of the trilogy. But I think if you keep with that theme; there are going to be some memorable sacrifices in the next installment.
Assuming of course that you had a relatively successful suicide mission in ME2 (no deaths), I can see Bioware having to make the ultimate choice in sacrificing a character (or two) that has spread across the trilogy.
Imagine if you will, as Shepard, you have Tali and Garrius with you on some Reaper Super-Structure (be it a base or a Reaper itself). I can foresee an "interrupt" moment that (in this example) where Tali throws herself in front of a vulnerable Shepard, and is severally wounded. She can still fight the fight, but she is getting progressively worse and worse.
Fast forward to our three heroes running (Shepard with Tali in tow, and Garrius running up ahead of them) to their getaway vessel. Garrius is in the vessel powering up engine to flee the exploding (or dying) Reaper, and Shepard hovering over a dying Tali. Tali is not going to survive and she asks to see Shepard "with her own eyes" and not through her visor. And thus the reveal is done. We watch as our first glimpse of Tali'Zorah's face is also our last as she slips away. Now we just had our "Return of the Jedi" moment.
Not an original idea, obviously, but an idea that would serve as an epic moment for an ending of a beloved character that bathes the character in strength and courage.
Of course that is just my opinion, I could be wrong.
