Can anyone tell what you need to do to get his rating high enough?? I have given him all the gifts that I know he likes and done all the dialog points but I can't get his approval high enough.

You have the exact script I need to run?? The one from origins doesn't seem to work.

Doesn't work?

Well, I didn't try it in Awakening.

Sorry.

i had 73 at the end, by giving him gifts and the few couple times he agreed with me. if he had disagreed with me a few less times, i'd gotten there.

You realized, that you can click the barrel behind him in the throne-room to trigger conversations?

Sometimes he has something to say - like the pony thing - and sometimes he won't talk. In this case try later again and again.

He starts at 0. You can give him six gifts for a +6 approval each, for a total of 36.

The pony conversation nets you +10 (if I'm not mistaken) and the anvil dialogue +8.

If you're careful in every other dialogue (when Felsi visit, stay out of it as much as you can), you should be able to get him to the right level of approval.

For me the options in Oghren's conversations seemed a bit confusing at times. Sometimes I chose an option thinking it's something he'd like to hear or will think of it as a joke, but it ended up in disapproval. I finished the game with Oghren at 60 :( Really silly, since we were such good friends in Origins. Will try harder next time.

Off the top of my head:

- He will disapprove no matter what if you release Nathaniel and then accept him when he shows up again. So do not have him present if you are going to recruit Nathaniel this way.
- He will approve of you asking Sigrun to join if he's in your group.
- He *should* approve when you release the prisoners in the basement of Warden's Keep, but I can't remember how much. I know Sigrun definitely has a huge increase of +10 approval so I hold off doing the basement until I have her in my party. Edit: Nm. My notes don't show any approval from him in that encounter and I know I had him with me.
- When you take Sigrun to Amaranthine and activate the conversation at the merchant table, having Oghren in your group is +1 if you pick the top reply on the tree.
- When you rescue the hostage, Oghren approves when you opt to fight (as opposed to paying the ransom).

I'll add if I think of any more Oghren approvals.

I managed somehow to get him to +90, with just the gifts and conversations of Awakenings (importing gifts from Origins is not necessary). Make sure you have found all the alcohol gifts (search all the areas; I found an easy-to-miss bottle in the warehouse during Anders' quest, for instance). Talk with him in the keep (by clicking on the cask behind him) until you run out of conversations; you can gain quite a few points that way. Probably a good idea to save beforehand and try different options to gain maximum approval.

He approves of Sigrun's joining even if he's not in the party at the time. I think someone posted that he approved if you asked the prisoners in the keep to strip before freeing them (haven't tried this). Also, you can gain a few +1 by doing the Blight Orfans questline.

If I might add, Oghren also approves some pranks from pool little blight orphans. "Borrowing" the sermon book, spreading herbs on revered mothers bed and scarecrow prank should give +1 approval each.

He doesn't have to even be in the party if you ask Sigrun to join you lol.  Well for me both times I've played and he wasn't and I got his approval.

If you click on the boat when you first get in the Fade you can have a conversation with Oghren.  I tried many ways to get some approval there but I'm not sure if it's possible, becareful though you can lose approval.

The apothecary sign right by the steps going up to the chantry is another Oghren/PC interaction. (I don't remember the approval you can get/lose though)

The Anvil in the prison area in Kal'Hirol can get you approval as someone else has said.  +8 is the highest

Also don't take Oghren with you when you go and get Valenna and you ask her to join your group.  You will lose - approval.  I think it's only about 3 but if your trying to get his approval up so you can do his quest don't take him with you.

I got +17 approval after giving him the toy you find in the black marsh. Told him that he wanted a pony from his last drunk convo.

Thanx guys. Will try these tips in my next playthrough, for this one I got the console commands to work.

You can get the command from here : http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Console

Need to have oghren selected for it to work.
