DLC - Dragon Ager Servers, et al

Heres the deal: I never much paid attention to whether the servers were down before, b/c I didn't have any DLC. Jan 10th I realized I had redeem codes that came with the game, and also gear from playing DA:J, so I got all that stuff. Over the past two weeks I haven't been able to play b/c Bio can't find the DLC associated with my save games on my hard drive. Funny thing is: its there. When I was able to connect the ONE TIME over the past two weeks, I followed the steps and made sure that the content was on my hard drive. Specifically, its having troubles with the Embri's item.
Why would it just have trouble with Embri's and not the other items in that promo pack? I finally deleted the whole promo pack and now it gives me an error for both Embri's and Amulet.
HELP. What am I doing wrong? I will never get DLC from Bio again, I promise. I just want to play the game I've put several hours into and spent $60 dollars on, and I feel like I'm being held hostage for 'stealing' when I didn't do anything wrong. ITS FREE GEAR THAT THEY GAVE AWAY ONLINE, FOR CHRISTS SAKE. GAHHHH .

Unfortunately, the promo DLC used a "many-to-one" licensing approach, meaning that there are many individual licenses tied to each chunk of downloadable data. In order to play offline, all licenses must be present; having the data alone is insufficient, since you might be a filthy pirate.
From the sound, you have the license for the amulet but not Embri's. To fix this, you need to delete the appropriate promo pack (which it looks like you've done already) and download Embri's when the servers are again reachable. You can find more details in the following discussion thread:

This is exactly the sort of (understandable) response I predicted when this problem was discovered at launch. Apparently no one checked what would happen if the DA servers went offline, which is a pretty big QA gaffe when you have a multi-year plan for DLC.

I am also having these problems. I can't even re-download my two missing pieces of DLC because I can never access the servers. To me...once the content is downloaded it should never require the server connection to keep playing the game. Not only does it make buying the game a waste of money but also all the DLC. I love Bioware and their games but this is beyond frustrating. I also don't want to have to spend a whole bunch of time going through the hard drive and reconfiguring stuff to make a game that I paid for work.switzki wrote...

Anyways, they should change the message from the Dragon Age servers are temporarily unavailable to permanantly unavailable...because so far they have been for me.

Funny you say that b/c I just vented again on the subject of the servers never being available to do the fix.
Switzki, you should be being paid by Bioware for all your effort in this. I got the amulet saved but the servers went down by the time I tried to embri's bag, so I am left unable to play my game again.
btw, no need to reply to my other post; i'll probably delete it since blues never post here and you shouldn't feel obligated to. Thanks.
