I plan to pre order any expansion or sequel they offer. And if DLC becomes available I will get that too. I'm a very happy camper with both the main game and its expansion.

The first game I ever pre ordered was DAO. I only did that because I fell fool to the claims that the SP and Dragon Plate would only be available to preorder's or Collector's Editions. Then low and behold anyone who bought it new got that stuff. I didn't pre order Awakening the minute it became apparent that BIOWARE was hiding the game length from us. That set off a huge red flag that this game wasn't going to be meet the price tag to content ratio by any stretch of the imagination. So the $40 I would have spent for Awakening got spent on FFXIII. Based on everything said, I clearly got the better deal for my money. Unless I intended to play through Awakening about 14 times to get the equivalent of 1 playthrough in FFXIII. And then add in the complaints that choices mean little to nothing when it comes to Awakening, the replayability seems pretty non existent.

Not me. BioWare will be lucky If I ever buy any game they are involved in ever again.

Makes me angry even thinking about it. I mean £30 for an expansion pack? If that isn't blatant money grubbing then I don't know what is.

I didn't pre-order Awakenings since there was no "bonus" for doing so and will not pre-order the next thing to come out unless there is a bonus for doing so. (I did pre-order DA:O and was very happy with the bonuses I rec'd for doing so).

I am however decidedly NOT dissapointed with any portion of DA to date and I have everything thats available (officially) for PC.

I am having great fun with Awakenings with my only character to finish DA so far and am anxiuos to get back to DA:O to finish up some of my other characters so I can bring them into Awakenings as well.

I'm hoping for as many years with this franchise as I played with the BG series altho thats a pretty tall order since I didn't stop playing it until NWN2 came out.

of course im buying the awakening, what a wounderful game the origins has been.Great storyline, wounderful graphics(takes advantage of my 3x285 sli-250gts physics card), not to mention how the games tie-in with your account on BioWare for everyone to see...

I just hope they keep it coming :)

Me... I have been a staunch supporter of Biowares dragon age DLC and expansions to this point, but the completely foreseeable, completely fixable day 1 naked character bug is unnaceptable. I bought it today w/out questioning when I was at my local game store and have previously been avoiding all posts and news about this expansion as I did not want to be spoiled... Seems I learned my lesson.

Bull****.

To be fair to Bioware, that price is dictated by EA, who is the publisher.  Bioware doesn't have a choice in that.  There are plenty of reasons to attack Bioware, besides the price.

Quality control
Shortened game (for the price)
Quality control
No DLC transfers
Quality control
Lack of deep character interaction
Quality control

...

Did I mention quality control?  I've encountered at least a half-dozen crashes since Awakening and the 1.03 patch was released, while I encountered absolutely no crashes prior.

Fair enough, but it still falls on Bioware in the end. They made the product, and regardless of who owns them, they are responsible for it. From what I understand, they basically had "junior-grade" developers working on Origins, while all the "senior-grade" developers are working on TOR. This is understandable, but you'd think they want someone with more experience to check the code before launch, especially since it's almost the price of a full, new game ($40). If it was $30, or even $20, I'd be more forgiving. At $40, they'd better deliver some quality gaming. While it was fun, the flaws detracted from it, and thus my answer to the OP is a resounding "NO".

Just vote with your feet. Do not buy other Bioware (or EA) games until they start caring about quality and treating loyal customers with respect.

A simple acknowledgment that they have not been living up to our expectations, and a statement of intent to do better, would suffice.

Remember, even if you personally are happy with the game, clearly there are many that are not, and those people deserve respect as well. Also remember that peoples expectations of a product are very often engineered by the company via advertising. Since there is such a large amount of unsatisfied customers this time, it's fair to say they are guilty of false advertising, if nothing else, i.e. ; the company bares the blame.

In the grand scheme of things, EA couldn't care less about you all, you have bought the product and that's the end of it as far as they are concerned. They are mass-producers of games. 1 failure simply doesn't matter. If they lose a few sales over this, so what- they have a good 50 (wild guess) other games coming out this year.

They don't care whether you are satisfied, since you are a niche-segment as opposed to a representative of their broader customer-base*. I say, if they don't care about you, then you should not care about them.

This product was so bad, that I personally do not care if they never make another product again, unless it is a lot better. I can honestly say I consider the time spent on playing this game a total waste. If that is their standard then whether or not they go out of business is totally irrelevant for me. It's time I stop hoping for another fallout2, or planescape:torment.

Thank you for reading.

(*your typical bioware rpg-gamer doesn't buy a lot of other EA games)

If there's another expansion, I would still probably buy it but I hope there is more character depth and it packs a more powerful punch than Awakenings.

That's not say I didn't enjoy Awakenings. I did, but I just didn't feel the connection the way I felt with Origins.

Think something was up personally with the programmers of this game "Hanging stiff labeled an adulterer" also lack of the romance part but gifts galore. Ending of the game i was like what where to next ... took me an hour of finnishing old quests to relealize that was all the content. Definately like DA:O better. As far as pre-ordering any next expansion , they better put some effort into the next game this after all is a game to make money . I hate cheap expansions and this felt that way to me.

The next full game, I'm 100% on board with.

The next expansion, I might be a little more wary.

I presume, posting this thread in an Awakening forum, that one is supposed to come to a decision based on one's experience with DA:O and/or DA:A. For me, the decision involves more factors, for instance, whether more draconian DRM will be used for future Bioware games. I asked this question in the ME2 forum over the weekend: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/1932059

Will you buy the Bioware game if it comes with a DRM that requires constant internet connection, and if the connection drops, or if the EA authentication server goes down, you won't be able to play it?

For me, I won't buy such a game, much less pre-order it.

But if this discussion in confined to only the factors at play in the two DA games, then ignore this post.

I won't pre order it. I might not even buy the damned thing.

If I hear that they decided the bring back companions, continuity and romances, then I will buy it. If not, I will rage. A lot.

That is why I don't pre-order games, I'll just wait until it is cheap or a patch that fixes it then I'll buy it.

I would throw a 100 bucks to a game if it had content and was worth it. Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age Origins well worth the money and then some.

Games like Awakenings I wonder why I even bother spending the cash at all or simply wasting my time and poorly designed game play with a few UI tweaks that no one really cares about. I cannot recall a game I waited so long for and was so excited to see it released that I never bothered finishing. Even KOTOR II I finished it even though it was hack and slash job to probably get it working.

Awakenings just plain was lame and I bought it from my Sony account if there is away to get money back from it PM or let me know.

I WILL be pre-ordering the next release in this series. I enjoy it a lot and yeah there are bugs; however currently my enjoyment of the game and the number of aspects of it that are good outweighs the issues with it that are not.

I really like it, and yes I like the expansion too. If I come across a bug I will look up how to fix it.

Sorry but I enjoy these games.

I will be. I really liked both Origins and Awakenings, another expansion would be very welcome.

Even if I didn't like Awakenings, people on the forums didn't hold back in critisising so much so that Bioware would be stupid not to fix the majority of these "problems" in the next expansion.

I'm not. I want real and actual confirmation that the next expansion is an actual expansion, and not just a souped-up premium module that confines all it's changes to it's own make-believe corner of the game.
