Anyone completely lose it when they heard Kelly say "Cerberus' methods are extreme, but they have noble objectives"?

Nope. That seemed like an accurate assessment to me. If you don't think the other races seek to advance their interests whenever they can then you're pretty naive.

It's not the objectives that are in question. It's the methods.

Yeah but I don't see how injecting thresher maw acid into a soldier advances humanities interests. Maybe I could if I got some justification for it, but there is none.

They never planed for surviors, they wanted to see what a Maw could do. Remember what Miranda said. "Cerberus gives me my resources and tells me to do it". A cell is given an objective and it's up to them to get results. That is why TIm was very upset with subject zero because that cell went rouge.

1: You're redirecting.  It's the equivlant of saying ''well everyone else is why can't  I?''  Doesn't make any less wrong and you're dealing directly with Cerebus in ME2.

2: They were experimenting with Thorian creepers they got from Exogeni.

4. So, it's acceptable to kill a superior officer in the Alliance military?  :?

That doesn't answer my question at all. How does injecting thresher maw acid into a soldier advance humanities interests? It doesn't show what a thresher is capable of, since their acid would never be directly injected into a persons bloodstream. If they really were trying to test what thresher could do, feeding an entire colony and a squad of marines to them is a pretty poor way to go about doing it. And even if it wasn't, it still wouldn't be advancing human interests.

I felt like there should have been a dialogue option with something along the lines of:

-mentioning rachni experiments
-turning two colonies into Thorian creepers and husks
-two occasions of using thresher maws against a squad of marines (one of which Sole Survivor Shepard was involved with)
-killing Khahoku
-more rachni experiments

She says that line with a straight face that made me want to yell, "Get the f*ck out of here!"

Yes, it did.  When she said that they may as well have stamped TOOL on her forehead.  It was right then that I began to plot her demise a la the human slurpee machine on the base.

with the exception of project lazarus, can you name one thing that Cerberus did that was of any benifit to humanity?

1: Does not matter, other groups where doing, yet people give Cerberus flak. It was Binary Helix who started the whole mess to begin with.
2: Thorian creeprs where being experimeted on in one of there bases far away from others that are non Cerberbus
4: You don't go messing around in a group that went rouge. That is just plain stupid. Once he found out what happen he should have went to the brass, he did not. He goes to the Shadow Brooker and takers it into his own hands. He brought it on himself.
5: The reason why I am pointing out that other groups where doing it is because other groups started it before Cerberus, they just got the reserch a little bit after and the only thing that backfired badly was the Rachni and both Cerberus and non Cerberus paid for it.

I am not defending them, I told TIm to shove it at the end, but Cerberus is not as bad as alot of the other groups out there, including Specters.

Much as I hate to sat it, Subject Zero does. The reason why is  because this showed the pontial for a human biotic. Jack is almost as powerful and maybe even on par with Samara and she is almost a thousand years old.I don't like saying it but it did show what humans can do. Was it right? Not at all, it was disgusting and thats why TIm pulled the project when the damage became clear.

When Kelly made her analogy of her sister (or whoever) running a dog shelter but still liking cats, I so wanted to go "So would your sister skin and gut a cat alive if it was the most expedient way to save some dogs?" to continue the analogy.

That's because Cerberus is a big part of Mass Effect 2, while I don't think Binary Helix is even mentioned. If we were working for them, I'm sure more people would be talking about what they did.

2: Thorian creeprs where being experimeted on in one of there bases far away from others that are non Cerberbus

The data that leads to the quest says Exo Geni sold the creepers to Cerberus.

None of this changes the fact that Cerberus killed him, which is bad.

Shepard kills people, does that make him bad then?

Yes, but Cerberus had nothing to do with Feros or that incident on that other planet. The Thorian creepers we see at there base are the ones they got. We have no proof that those mercs at that exogeni base where Cerberus, it's made clear they work for Exogeni.

I don't question Cerberus' motives, I question their competence. I've yet to see a single Cerberus project that hasn't spun wildly out of control and blown up in their faces. Even the Lazarus project fails spectacularly if you take Shepard down the Paragon path. If Cerberus is humanity, then humanity is royally screwed.

"Oh hey look, someone survived. Let's see if they survive when we do...THIS."

Cerberus is much more black than white. And TIM isn't exactly innocent. For christ sake LISTEN to the guy talk about himself and Cerberus in relation to humanity. "Cerberus *IS* humanity!"

The stuff you're saying explains why they did it, but it doesn't explain how any of it is even remotely justifiable to the point where a supposed hero like Shepard isn't at least given the option to NOT fight for them?

No, Shepard kills mercs and enemy combatants. Cerberus tried to kill an Alliance soldier.

Stop changing the black and white analogy to fit your argument.

And Kohaku DID take it to the brass. Did people not play the game?

That is the worst justification for Cerberus I have ever heard. Shepard kills mercs, criminals, and threats to the entire galaxy. Cerberus feed an entire colony and squad of alliance soldiers to a thresher maw, and then injected acid into the blood of the only known survivor. Shepard doesn't do anything like that.

The group that bought and experimented on the creepers was Cerberus. Nothing you say changes that. And I don't get why you're even trying to deny Cerberus involvement here. This is one of their few actions that appears to have some purpose. It was a spectacular failure, but it had purpose.

This is why I can't trust them with the base. It's not because of what I think they are going to do with it is wrong, it's because what they try to do with it will fail and lead to their demise.

No he told the Brass before Shepard told him what happen to his man. After Shepard does tell his man he leaves and goes to the SB. He should have went to the brass when Shepard told him what happen. It was his own fault, and wrong about Shepard.

Shepard can kill Rahna (spelling?) she is an unharmed scientist who while was doing unethical stuff was still not a merc or a person who can fight back. Did you play the game?

If you're not even going to try to refute the other points then at least remove them from the past.

And for the last time, the group was Cerberus. The log says that Exo Geni sold the creepers to Cerberus. It said that they shipped them to the Cerberus base in some random cluster. This same cluster is where we find the facility overrun with creepers. I guess Cerberus also hired Exo Geni and their mercs to preform the experiments in the base. But that was definitely a Cerberus base.

No it was not, there was no Cerberus logs of any kind, just exogeni logs. The base you are talking about was the base with those other two bases. There is no logs at that base to say it is a Cerberus base and since there is only exogeni personal in there, you can not prove it was Cerberus.

I don't either, but then I'm not a scientist. I assume that they expected to learn something worthwhile from it. In any case, Toombs is a lunatic so I doubt he had a clear idea of what it was the scientists were doing to him (though it was no doubt unpleasant).

I am not talking about those bases, I am talking about the exogeni one that Kraken is saying is a Cerberus base. It is not. That one was exogeni, the three bases are Cerberus and they where done away from other people and did not realy backfire until Shepard went in there guns blazing.

Pretty sure getting shot up with Thresher Maw venom is a big part of why he went nutters in the first place.
