I'm not sure everybody digs you point. Some people here would seem to think it's swell to be a Marie Antoinette-Reaper. They like cakes. Especially the free ones.

Ooh, are we making Reapers based on anecdotal non-history? If so, I call dibs on the Nero-Fiddling-Reaper. The giant space-fiddle doubles as a giant space-flamethrower.

Dibs on the Viking Reaper. Dammed Euros will bow before your Nordic masters and like it.

In passing, I'm taking your women and worldly goods. :P

Lol. Hey, it's hardly my fault that she is best erroneously remembered for that. I personally blame journalists.

That's the point. The giant space squids have no clue to what makes the Humans their doom. And it is, most probably, this:

when the locks are released from EDI, she gives you a picture of how cerberus operates - TIM micromanages everything.. about 12 active cells if memory serves me right.

on the otherhand, jack's quest will show that TIM does have some rouge splinter cells within his splinter group:)

Dragging their feet implies they were taking action; they were doing nothing.  If you talk to the Councillors from ME1 (none of the other ME2 Councils will speak with you far as I know) they flat out tell you they have no intention to ever do anything, they could be lying because you're working for the enemy but knowing those three I doubt it.  Even the Alliance was taking no action until TIM dropped a hint that Cerberus may be involved.

End Off Topic Rant

Actually, that was later on when the re-population of carthagage took place. First they were more concerned to getting rid of carthage at that moment and they did salt the nearby lands as to assure carthage cold not recover for a longgggg time.

The reason behind it, they had another enemy to the east who aided carthage, and that was the balkan peninsula, so after carthage was dealt with the Romans didn't want to risk Some sort of insurrection while they dealt with the Macedonians and some greek cities, so best way was to cut of the food supply.

ANd if they dont trade it with us what do you think we do? ask em nicely, or impose restrictions to the country.

YOu take things way to literal, conquest can be , military political or ideological.

You keep thinking that all hostility is, is somebody with a gun.

US has plenty of puppet governments laying around, just as most superpowers, that is a conquest all on its own.
Conquest is the supremacy of one individual over the other, or of one group over the other.

Doesn't mean just 1 single individual will reign over every single other person, it means 1...one group one nation, one corporation.

Does not matter whether you enjoy, admit or like the fact. Point is 50,000 years of human evolution backs whatever I say. Supremacy over others is always been top priority, it can be subtle or very literal. But it is always ongoing.

Absolutely false. Humans think in prioritized tiered arrays, but that doesn't remotely mean every facet of extending that process is bound by it, if humanity was that stupid, we wouldn't still be here. H/G societies survived by inter-cooperation, and you're communicating on an system built on the same principle. Simplistic theory is simplistic.

We survived, by cooperation? and why is cooperation first born out of? Supremacy over animals. I am not talking about only between sentients.

Animals of every kind cooperate for multiple reasons, the base for all of it, is to outlast or outwit another group of animals.

Humanity is stupid, we just adapt quite fast :P

Hardly. And our adaption to the micro is fast, macro adaption isn't, and is one of humanity's greatest weaknesses, and is perfectly likely to bite us in the ass rather soon, geologically speaking. Generically speaking any coral reef pretty much kicks your theory straight in its ass, even with predators being part of system. Domination exists in ideological and political systems because it is allowed to.

....jesus, dont think 100% of every animal species do the same, no I know, some coral with barely any movemnt has the same cravings or needs as we do.

Yes, we allow it, because for one, if I bust my ass working my entire life, I want to live better than the lazy ass down the street who has 5 kids and sucks off the government green ****** for...kid maintaneance.

For 2nd. I dont want to live scratching a living in flea infested villages.

3th. I want more for me and for my close ones, than my neighbor does. I want more luck, better stuff or something. We all do, from simple things like a better....lawn to complex things like.....better houses or something. It is what drives us. To want more, to live better, at the expense of others, whether they are animals, plants or the like of us.

Is it greed, hell yes, do we allow it?....well we have independent thought, so until that is gone we will continue to pursue a better living at whatever the expense is.

ANd predators do the same. They eat to survive, they dont think whether is right, or omg I am killing a mother of....how many offsprings do kids can have at one time? Anywho, they dont think I am killing the mother of a thousand kids, they just it.

We do the same in a more complex matter, we just dont see survival, we seek confortable survival.

We know Cerberus has done the following.

1.Killed 50 men on Akuze by threser maws

2.Did terrible experimenting on children (subject zero)

3.Killed Admiral Kahoku and his men*

4.Has done experimenting on Rachni

5.Has blown up a Quarian ship**

6.Assassination of a Terra firma party official

7.Experimented on biotic children***

*(It does not matter even if he did get involved first the soldiers were innocents and were killed by cerberus hands)

**I do not remeber if this was mentioned in the books but it is mentioned in the game

***This is the main plot in Mass Effect:Ascension

but lets look at the good things they have done.

1.Revived Shepard back from being clinicly dead

2.disarmed a bomb in the citadel

I can not think of any more but the point is while Ceberus might be doing some good innocent lives(especialy alien lives) have been lost and you can not justify those means with thier ends!

hope this clears stuff up.

Coral reef, but thanks for continuing to undermine your premise.

You're also incorrectly bridging short term literal with long term abstraction on a system that doesn't support it.

As to whatever personal exegesis you've derived and "implemented", somehow I doubt it's universal. Somehow.

That kind of reasoning can only get you so far. You can't be pro humanity, or at least claim that it is your top priority, if you are activley supporting one of humanities biggest enemies.

This "To want more, to live better," and this "at the expense of others," are unconnected thoughts. If everyone was solely concerned with advancing themselves by pushing down their neighbors, rather than by improving things for both of you then we would indeed still be living in caves and scratching our selves. But maybe you'd have a bigger pile of furs. Until someone kicked your ass and took them.

Me? I'm perfectly happy if we both have hot showers. Wealth is both relative and absolute. In some very real terms a beggar on the streets of New York is richer than Cassius. And that is because those of us who grasp the value of cooperation and building instead of just taking have managed to drag the world kicking and screaming into the present. And the bigger cave man can no longer kick your ass and take your stuff because Sam Colt has ensured that any grandmother can plug your ass with a .45 and take care of the problem.

TIM thinks we live in a world of cave men and he wants to kick everyones ass and take their stuff. And he's going to get us all killed if he's not stopped. Because as the Rachni and the Krogan have demonstrated if you make too big a pain of yourself grandma will pull out the .45 and slap you down. The Krogan survived the slapping because the Salarians didn't want to throw away a potentialy useful species. The Rachni weren't so fortunate. It was pure  luck that resulted in a single fertile queen egg survivng on a drifting ship, then being found by people who didn't just kill it out of hand. If not for the almighty hand of the plot they would be extinct bugs.

Right. And who is living more comfortably right now? We happy, fat, lazy americans who like to like by industry and trade? Or the lean, mean, cave dwelling fanatics of Al-Queda who want to kill us and destroy our stuff as being a threat to their way of life.

We and the Asari and the Turians and everybody else can all live more comfortable lives if we concentrate on trade and industry rather than who can vaporize the most civillians.

BTW this is not to suggest that the military as such is not desireable or good, lest you think I'm saying any such nonsense. You always want to be able to defend yourself or slap down the guy who refuses to get with the program.

My point is that in the ME universe any of the council races are more than capable of slapping us down and TIM is the imbecile who refuses to get with the program.
