With my own abilities to heal I recovered very fast, only a star like scar beside my belly button will bear witness of this encounter for ever.
After some talks we decided to go to Orzammar, to claim aid and show the treaties to their King.
Sort of horror crawls over my mind always if I was thinking about - going underneath - stay under the surface let me breath heavily.
This will be a most unpleasant time for me. On our way to Orzammar we will look to find the golem. Maybe he could be useful in future - even if I had not a clue about golems.

It was early in the night and I sat before my tent, pondering about Alistair, Zevran, the meaning of my life and my dream.
The sweet dalish voice haunted me - was it my mother ? Azatae my real name ? But why I had no pointed ears ?
Suddenly the slightest touch in my neck, lips so seducing, a low mumble at my ear
*How well-versed are you in poetry? Antivan poetry specifically?*
Raising my hand to embrace his cool cheek a smile in my answer *This is a question?*
He purred still in my ear like a cat
*And why not? I am no master of serious dialogue, after all.
It was recited to me, as I recall, by a rather wealthy target of mine. Let's see...*
He cleared his throat, moving in front of me, faking a serious face.
*The symphony I see in thee / it whispers songs to me.
Songs of hot breath upon my neck / songs of soft sighs by my head / songs of nails upon my back / songs of thee come to my bed.*

* Oh dear ....* I chuckled

* Oh I know, I know. I couldn't believe that she thought this would actually convince me to spare her. I had Sex with her anyway, but that goes without saying. She still had to die. The poem was amusing at the time, however, and thus I've always remembered it.*
*So you thought to seduce me with it?*
He gave me a toothy grin, his green-gold eyes seeming to dance in amusement. *Hmmmm .... now that is a thought, isn't it? Would it work?*
*It might*
*I'll have to keep that in mind. Personally my preferred methods of seduction are a bit more .. tactile.
Here I thought you might be cheered up by some naughty poetry.*
He paused shortly, his gaze locked in my eyes his voice was rather seriously now. He moved his hand under my chin, caressing with his thumb tenderly my lips.
*You simply look so ...unhappy. Such an unflattering expression for such a lovely face.*

Image IPB

This took me by surprise - it seems he actually cared for me and has seen my inner conflict about so much things...
*I appreciate the effort.* My answer was attended with a easy smile.
*Do you ? It's always pleasing to have ones efforts recognized. Good karma all around! Me, I tend to make the best of whatever situation I find myself in, stealing what moments I can. It's served me well, most days. You might learn to do the same, my dear Warden.*
My lips curled into a whimsically grin * I think I do the same, actually.*
*Oho... Then I learn something new about you every day.*
My gaze was for sure pure provocation as I rose up - to be honest he had teased and stoke the fire in me, like the first time. My heart paced fast and I covet him to be my lover tonight - again.
No further word was necessary, he simple swept me off of my feet in his muscular arms and chuckled with his adorable accent, I loved so much *Arr! Pirate Zevran reporting for duty! Prepare to be boarded!*

Image IPB

Nestled  in his embrace, catching still my breath I wondered how a man like him could give so much pleasure and passion - there was a feeling it was more then only physically lust -this time I had lost myself complete, like two become one in perfection, body and soul ... I called myself a crazy dork - he was experienced, a killer, in spite of everything - love will mean nothing to him.
*Tell me about your adventures Zev.*
He chuckled *My adventures? I'm hardly an old man just returned from across the ocean, am I? Should I shake my fist at nearby children while talk about the good old days?*
Rolling on my right side to face him my lips touched gently his smooth lips *One can never tell with you elves.* I teased him.
*Oho! Well, if a racist crack like that doesn't cajole me into telling a tale, then nothing will!
Let's see.*
I listened quietly his tales - from mess up a mission with a prince and his second task to kill a mage. This one was obviously more an accident then a real kill, the mage killed herself off by slipping on the threshold and falling backwards out of a carriage, broke her neck. Zevran had a crush on her and was about to spare her, speaking on her behalf with the crows - young and foolish as he was. The Mage was a little snake, about to betray Zevran's trust. But so it turned out as a masterpiece in the end...
*It was after that when I learned that one needn't let a pretty face go to your head. Professionalism was key. That's my moral of the day, you see*
*So you NEVER mix business with  pleasure?*
*Hmmmm. Well there is you... but I 'll point out that you did have to capture me and tie me up, first. Every rule has its exception.
Now that I've mentioned tying me up in that context, do we have extra rope about?* He grinned broadly, pulling me near to kiss my neck as I started to laugh.
*Your skin is like white satin pearls, smooth as velvet and you taste like honey - how you manage this ? And if we are about to ask about past life... care to answer a question?*
I started to nibble nervously on my lower lip *Ask ...*
*So my dear little mage why you have throw me out the last time after I mentioned the adorable tattoo ?*

Maker help me ..., I had should knew it that this will come up again...

But I felt different this time, warm and safe in his arms I put my trust in him and opened my heart the first time in my life.
After a jolty start all was breaking out of me - that I had no knowledge who I am, from where - about my parents - nothing. My time at the Circle, how cumbersome it was to hide my real strength, knowledge and abilities as a young woman. That I practice in hidden locked rooms, testing my self to the edge - I told him about Irving - that he has gave me always a hand, like a father.
Zevran listened without interruption my breakout.
In the end I made a last step further - I told him from my dream and the dalish woman voice I have heard - calling me Azatae - Aza for life, tae for love.
Lifting a brow he asked quietly were I caught the knowledge about the dalish language. Blinking surprised adn thinking hard about I had to pass - cause I had not a clue.
He kissed my forehead, his lips brushed over the tattoo gently, finding in a demanding passionate kiss my lips again.
*Look my dear little Mage, maybe we can find out some about this tattoo of yours if we go to the Dalish - what do you think - will you allow me to research a bit there ? I'm good with this, or so I'm told.*
I had to admit this wasn't a bad idea after all, so I simply nodded, snuggling deep in his arms again, we fell into a sleepy satisfied quietude.
Our way would lead us anyway to the Brecilian Forrest - who knows...
My last feeling before I was falling asleep was something like a small hope ...

In the morning we were packing all the stuff together as my gaze was falling upon Sten.
He was struggling with a small thread - and his real big hands. I felt a bemused smile on my face as I walked over to him.
*What is your wish kadan?*
I took the thread and bind the package together. *Say do you find Ferelden strange?*
*To put it lightly. - No one has a place here. Your farmers wish to be merchants- The merchants dream of being nobles, and the nobles become warriors - no one is content to be who they are.*
I asked him quietly if there is anything he likes.
*There is ... interesting food here. You have a thing.. it doesn't have a word in qunari tongue. Little baked things, like bread, but sweet , and crumbly.*
My smile deepens *Cookies?*
*Yes! We have no such things in our lands. This should be remedied.*
*I'll keep that in mind Sten - but, you sound a bit homesick.*
His violet eyes staring at me, but I could swear there were sadness and something like warmth for me in.
*...Perhaps. It'S strange to be in a crowd and hear a language that is not your own. To see faces that are and aren't like yours. I miss the smells of Seheron. Tea and incense and the sea. Ferelden smells like wet dogs.*
*You left out the rotting garbage* I chuckled
Sten groaned *True. I was trying to forget that part. Shall we move on kadan?*
I gave him his package with a warm gaze - *Yes Sten - lets go*
He dipped his head once and stoic as I left him.

Underneath the small hill of Honnleath we set up a small camp - I took Dog, Zevran and Morrigan with me to go to the Town Center. An there it was - the smell of darkspawn.

Image IPB

Two people coming running down the street in our direction, crying, yelling for help. Dog barked frantically, growling deeply after.
On the heels from the two fleeing villagers the darkspawn appears - I bet the deadly, icy welcome we had prepared was a bit of a surprise.
Zevran groaned that his blades probably smell forever like rotten darkspawn.
Honnleath was on fire on several spots - overall we found corpses and in the mid of all a statue of stone - the golem.
I thought it could be a good idea too look if every one has survived, beside the two who fled as we arrived.
The most houses were empty or the on or another darkspawn in - I opened another door and my fine senses smelled something others - not only this thickly, putrid darkspawn stench. It seems the Hurlocks, Genlocks and what not has concentrate here the attack.
Finally we come down to a large room. My Marbari and Zevran made quick work of the rest of enemys - Morrigan and I approached a strange lucent barrier - behind we spot humans, men, women and children as well.
*By the Maker! We're saved!*
*You ... weren't sent by the bann, were you ? To save us?*
I told him I am a Grey Warden and that a merchant has told me about this place.*
He pondered a second with a question in his eyes before he started to make a angry face. He raised his hand to open the barrier for the others and gestured we should follow him. Curious I touched the lucent barrier .. he must be a mage, but I never have seen something like this before.

Image IPB

He told me his name is Matthias and that the Golem is a damnable thing. It has killed his father Wilhelm - a mage for the Arls of Redcliffe and a hero at the war against Orlais.
I wasn't amused about what I heard - *That's great. It murdered its master?*
Matthias started to knead his hands - with a slight tilt of my head I gave him a quizzical look.
He told me about his little daughter. She was afraid about the attack and ran far into the laboratory before he could stop her. A man tried to go after her and was killed. *But.... you could find her, couldn't you ?*
*What killed this man who went after her?*
*There are defenses my father put down here to keep strangers out. I knew about the barrier, i had the key for that, but the rest of it? We never came down here. Ever.*
I gave him a long sigh, looking over my shoulder to look at Morrigan and Zevran. Morrigan shrugged and Zevran nodded.
*I'll see if I can find her*
He showed me the way with a lot of hope in his eyes.
Pah - why I must always play the hero - I told myself a fool.
This Wilhelm was for sure more then a normal mage... his defenses were strong, also Shriekers lured in the dark corners everwere. I noticed interesting crystals, put them all in my bag carefully. Then we heard a childs voice.
*Oh look! Someones come to play!*
The small girl raised from her knees, at her side a yellow cat.

Image IPB

Behind both I saw a strange thing on the floor like a puzzle - made of fire and stone.
*Good - you are safe. Your father was worried*
*Father...?* Oh! You can tell him I'm fine. Maybe he will come and stay with us too. Anyway - you should go if you're not going to play. Kitty finds you distracting.*
I coughed *The cat.... finds me distracting?*
The girl nodded *Kitty is clever. She says you'll want to take me back to my father, but I'm not going. She would be lonely.*
Dog let out a long and menacing growl towards the cat.
Then *Kitty* starts to speak with a sweat voice *I would not suggest leaving in such hostile company anyhow, Amalia. Look how they act.*
Her eyes were glowing in a almost pink glittering and I hid a deep sigh - damn demons...

Image IPB

*That's not really a cat, is it ?*
Amalia protested immediately *Of course she's a cat! She just talks, that's all.*
*Kitty* mentioned something like talking is simple if you know how.

Okay - let the fight over the small girl begin ... demon

*I don't think talking to this creature is safe, Amalia*
*Oh, bug-whistles! You're just no fun! I'm going to ignore you now.*
The cat purred a answer * Nothing you say will convince Amalia to go with you. She loves only me now. I am her friend, while you are just a stranger.*
Crossing my arms over my chest I shoot a hard, icy glare to the cat.
*I'm not leaving without the girl.*
Kitty made the proposal I should free her from the mages wards and give her the girl - she wouldn't hurt Amalia. But seeing the world through her eyes, was her deepest desire.
I lied to her coldly that she can have the girl after I put down the ward, solving the puzzle.
Zevran whispered in my ear * Tz, tz .. mi guapo loca - you have a sense for difficult situations. No ? *

Image IPB

Morrigan has payed her attention al ready at the puzzle - and we need some tries to get the tiles in the right order so the flames reached from one corner to the other.
Kitty stretched her *cat body* excited *Yes.. I can feel the magic fading. Oh... I had forgotten how it feels to not be caged!*
This damn foolish Mage named Wilhelm has caged a demon here - and now I had to deal with him... or it will possess his grandchild. If I had could kill the Mage I had probably done this just right now.
*Kitty? What's happening?* Amalia was slightly scared
Kitty tried to be charming *A wonderful thing my dear - for both of us.*
* I'm sorry to interrupt you - I said I'd free you - I didn't say I'd let you live.*
My statement was dryly and determined.
Kitty cried out loud *Betrayal! You will not take the girl! She is mine!*
Dog barked angry and showed his teeth ...
*Kitty, you're scaring me! I won't let you inside me! I won't!* Amalia shouted, back off and turning to ran away fast as she could.
The Kitty Demon snorted in wrath and changed to her true form - a desire demon.
Before she could do anything Dog was over her, ripping her apart with his teeth, Zevran took care with his blades for the helpers. Morrigan shifted her form to the spider to hold the demon in place - so it was a pretty fast fight - with a bad end for *Kitty*
Slowly we walked back to father and daughter. Both were looking happy to have each other again. He told me thankfully if I would have the Golem I had to say *dulen harn* and he thought I could handle it just fine.
I left both with a smile - sometimes it was a good thing to be a .. what has Zevran whispered ....guapo loca ?
I made a mental note to ask him what this means ...

It was late in the evening as we arrived the place with the Golem. I took out the rod and inspect the Golem closer. I saw several crystals embedded in the statue - all looks dwarven made.

Image IPB

*Dulen harn*
The statue started to crack, stone grind on stone ...
And then the statue looked down ...
*And of course it is another mage. That is what it is, yes? Yes. Just my luck.*
Blinking I tried to answer *Err... hello to you, too.*
The *Stone* complained how long it had stood there, surrounded from wretched little villagers.
*Then one wonders that you wouldn't be grateful to the one who allowed you to stretch your legs, golem.* Morrigans tone was rather sharply
The golem looked her up and down *Hmm. Another mage, I see. Charming.*
I tried to get out of the golem some informations but it seems the stone figure had only disdain for the villagers and his formerly master. The last point I found rather understandable - maybe that the golem killed him was the only right thing.
Staring suddenly down the golem wondered * It... does have the control rod, doesn't it I am awake, so it... must...*
I wag the rod before him or her ? *It certainly does, right in its hand.*
*I see the control rod, yet I feel...Go on. Order me to do something.*
*All right. Give Zevran a hug.*
*Hmph, I don't appreciate foreign objects invading my personal space. Well , usually.* Zevran returned towards us with a slight grin.
It appears that the rod was obviously broken and the Golem free to go - and this exactly I told him or her ? I thought it could be a her - even if that sounded in my ears a bit strange... a golem woman ?
*Ah. How... unexpected? Yet refreshing. I suppose I have to options, do I not? Go with it .. or go .. elsewhere? I .. do not even know what lies beyond this village.
I grumbled slightly * Are you going to keep calling me "it" ?*
*Yes. Very likely.*
I made quite a face *You're welcome to come with me.*
* I will follow it about then... for now. I am called Shale, by the way.*
*I am NaChaya, please to meet you*
*This should be interesting*
I was shaking my head , turning, to go back to the camp... I bet the others will become big eyes - our zoo grows wider... I couldn't help but I had to let out a chuckle as I heard behind me a chicken cackle and then a nasty noise of crushing bones.
Looking back over my shoulder a puddle of blood surrounded one of Shales mighty feet and she shrugged ....
Oh yes - this will be interesting...

Early in the next morning we set our feet again on dwarf land. I was more then nervously - to go under the earth let me grind my teeth.
For the first visit I took Zevran, Morrigan and yes - the golem - with me. So I could see how she is reacting, learn more about her - maybe.

Going upstairs I noticed the huge gates - before I saw his men - Loghain's banner on the uniform and shields.
As always cold hate raises from my stomach up to my brain - so I tried to ignore the scum. The dwarf guard argued with him quite loud - regardless I interrupted the hassle.

* I have urgent need to talk to your king. *

Loghains man tilted his head *Who doesn't? If I don't get in, no one should.*
The guard looked over me and my companions, his eyes grow widely as he noticed the golem.
*Orzammar has no king. Endrin Aeducan returned to the Stone not three weeks ago, sick over the loss of his sons.
The Assembly has gone through a dozen votes without agreeing on a successor. If it is not settled soon, we risk a civil war.* His voice was full of concern.
*The Grey Wardens need their traditional dwarven allies* With this words I reached out my hand to show the guard the treaties.
The Loghain Commander protested - named us as killers of King Cailan and my hate starts to be more burning, though still I held my composure and showed no emotion - simple ignoring him.
The guard handed the treaties back to me and with a thoughtful voice he allowed me to pass, cause the treaties had the royal seal.
The Commander gasped in disbelief *You're letting in a traitor? And a foreigner? In the name of King Loghain I demand that you execute this ... stain on the honor of Ferelden!*

Image IPB

Now - that was enough. I faced the man with a cold gaze and narrowed eyes.
*Loghain is the traitor who killed King Cailan at Ostagar!*
*What? L-lies and slander! King Loghain will not suffer this! I will not suffer it! I'm his messenger!*
The guard forced as after both party's raised the weapons to go down the doorsteps and the entrance - the fight wasn't hard. I must admit Shale is awesome skilled - she squeezed three or four like a cookie, let them look like crushed puppets. The loudmouthed Commander had no chance against two Mage's and a rogue who slipped into the shadow and stabbed him in his back.
Zevran chuckled and wiped his bloodstained blades clean.

We approached the Guard again and he gave me something like a sly smile .. hard to say about the beard which covered most of his face.
*You've done me a service. That fool Imrek was barking for a week. Are all humans so touched? You are free to enter Orzammar, Grey Warden, though I don't know what help you will find.*

Image IPB

With a deep sigh, trying my racing heart to slow down we finally step behind the huge gate.
The hall was...to put it mildly - gargantuan!
We all stared around with wide eyes. The air was surprisingly fresh, with a strange smell, though - it was a warm place.
A low snicker escaped me as I heard Zevran and Shale discuss about making love and babys. Especially Zevrans comment that any lover of Shale would with no doubt be quickly reduced to a puddle of bruises.
Morrigan started to pick on Zevran again, asking him why he not simple poisoned us all.
Zevran was joking at her - flirty and cheeky. I really admire him for this. Keep your feeling down under the surface of humor. Morrigan was helpless in the end - what causes another small laughter from my side.
We reached the next gate - to the next .. well ... there was no word for this buzzing streets and noises we noticed.
My attention got peeked as I saw crowd gathering, yelling at each other - then one of the dwarves killed another with an axe. The people who were with the killed dwarf were running away... my thought was .. is it possible that a dwarf is a coward... ?
Slowly approaching the guard to ask what happen here.
He explains that both parts claimed the throne, Prince Bhelen and Lord Harrowmont. The *runaways* were Harrowmont and his entourage. The dwarf captain answered more or less willingly my questions - I got names, places - all what will be necessary for the treaties. Inside me I was sighing heavily - nothing went as easy as I hoped it would.
Our first way should be to the Assembly in the Diamond Quarter. Once in a while a shudder was running down my spine as I saw the flowing Lava, reminding me that I'm deep under the earth. My self-control was strong enough to hold me back from a whimper and simply running out to the surface. Zevran seems to notice it and squeezed my shoulder in a gentle short touch and made a joke *Now that is a remarkable amount of lava. Do you think anyone ever falls in?* This actually let me smile again and I put my hand for a moment over his in thanks.
On the way there a young  lady talked to me- it seems Grey Wardens are popular and treated with respect from the dwarven folk.

Image IPB

She complained about Prince Bhelen - that he would be a monster, the city and the deshyr seeming not able to give good Lord Harrowmont the crown. People were at each others throat, that's for sure. I told her about the coming Blight and our treaties.
*A Blight? Now? But... our warriors are killing each other in the streets! I'm sorry stranger, I fear there will be no aid for you in Orzammar. Talk with Dulin Forender if you seek Lord Harrowmonts support.*
I gave her a friendly smile and left her to seek the Assembly. A little dwarf girl pulled on my robe.. *Sorry .. ? You look like you're not from around here.*

Image IPB

*Uhm - Can I help you ?*
She told me all excited-bouncing around like a little ball with a broad smile - she wants to study at the circle - as a valuable exchange. Both sides could profit from this.
My smile deepens and I pat her shoulder softly - her name was Dagna - *I can bring the Circle your request.*
She gasped and run with a little squeal away to pack her stuff - well in fact before I could tell her it will need a while before I can fulfil this promise.
We reached the Assembly, a guard admonish us to enter quietly, the Assembly is in session.
And so we opened the door to the most scheming politic world in Ferelden ...

The enormous gate to the Assembly Hall closed behind as with a low *thud*, against my will I had to admire the architectural finesse.
In the mid of this huge hall we saw standing a grey bearded dwarf, wearing rich clothes. On the balconys around and above gestured and yelled the deshyrs - men and women equally, threaten each other in the harshest words. On side against the other -

Image IPB

Finally the Stewart Bandelor in the mid raised his arms in a rather helpless gesture. *Deshyrs, lords and ladies of the Assembly; I've already doubled the guard to prevent violence. Must I summon more?*
His distinct, clear voice was pretty good to hear - even if the shouting getting louder every second. The atmosphere was so tensed you had could cut it with a dagger.
The Bandelor raised again his voice, this time on top of them *ENOUGH! The Essembly is in recess until the members are regain control of their emotions!*
Slowly the whole deshyrs went silent and left their places.
I gave a light nod to the others for leaving the Hall.

The dwarf - who I thought it was the Stewart Bandelor - stomped out, cursing and grumbling under his breath *stone-forsaken fools and dusters ...* He nearly bumped into me *I'm sorry. This is the Assembly of the Clans. Only deshyrs and occasional guests of state are allowed in.*
With a soft smile I told him who we are and he gave me a exhausted nod. He let me know - Blight or not - that no one will see the danger or willing to help as long the throne is empty. It seems the world of dwarves has ended with Endrin's dead. Both candidates were trust no one- mistrustfully eyeing each others moves.
My deep sigh let him raise a brow *I only wish there was more I could do for you Grey Warden.*
Then he walked off, again grumbling and cursing in his beard. I really don't envy him for his difficult position.

Another dwarf was nodding towards us ... he gave me the feeling of a slimy worm as he faced me.
Oh well - but he was important. Prince Bhelen's advisor I could not ignore. I let him look over the old treaties and he nodded and told me what I already knew ... only a KING could compels the treaties.
*Can I talk to Bhelen?*
No - surely not - what had I expected. The Prince trusts no one without a proof. Slowly I lost my patience, as I felt Zevrans hand grasping softly my shoulder, it cools down my temper surprisingly.
The pathetic explains from Vartag why I couldn't speak with Bhelen teared on my nerves, though *What must I do to prove my good intentions?*
Again he started a long sermon about betrayal and Harrowmont, giving me papers for two noble houses which obviously proofed that he was cheating.

Image IPB

Storing the papers in my bag I told the *slimy* that I immediately want to seek out Lady Dace and Lord Helmi.
As Vartag finally mentioned no one to tell from whom I got this papers I was sure the intrigue was on Bhelen's side - I made a mental note to ask in the Shaperate about.
All my knowledge I had from this culture are from books I was reading a very long time ago in the library from the Circle.
I dipped my head barely to Vartag before I left the Hall finally.

And now - how surprising - Harrowmonts second stood in our way. His bname was Dulin Forender, he had bright honest eyes and a sonor voice. He already knew about the Blight and was really ashamed that no one in Orzammar was able to help us. * ....that is a terrible risk for the surface. But even if the world would end tomorrow, Lord Harrowmont cannot ignore Bhelen today. He can#t afford to trust anyone of unproven loyalities.*
Now I had reached the end of my tether *Stop playing games! This treaty compels you to help!*
With sorrow in his eyes he tried to explain that only a KING could help - civil war was near. I had to proof - oh wonder - my intentions. Cursing inside terrible I wished I could turn all dwarves in a pile of toads.
*What do you want me to do, denounce Bhelen publicly?*
Dulin offered me to be a part on the Proving Bhelen was hosting today - the game for the deshyrs - perfect entertainment for the folks. If I would fight in Harrowmonts name it would raise his stand surely and proof I'm loyal towards him.
Zevran chuckled low *And this is to be your king? One who can't keep his own men from running like frightened children?*
The dwarf cocked a brow *Lord Harrowmont does not use threats or intimidation to motivate his men. He leads by example.*
*Ah I see* Zevran answered mockingly *So it's his example they follow as they cower from this Prince Bhelen?*
Durin snarled angrily at him *How you dare you slander Lord Harrowmont!*
Zevran gave me a thoughtful gaze *Why should we ally ourselves with someone too scared even to grant us an audience? Were I you, my dear Grey Warden, I would seek a stronger king than this Harrowmont.*
Even if Bhelen gave us no audience, too -  I had to admit I got Zev's point. Harrowmont seems to be the better man but far to weak.
*Zevran, you're right.* I hated to made this decision - only hoping it would be the fastest way to get a strong army gathered.

To find Lady Dace was easy ... this dwarven nobility was snobbish and more and more I wished I could simple run out of Orzammar.

Image IPB

Her behaviour changed as I showed her the papers. Unfortunate her father could revoke it and he was - surprise, surprise not here. He leads an expedition into the Deep Roads to secure and ancient thaig.
Another shudder was running down my spine as I finally was aware i couldn't avoid to go into the Deep Roads ...
She gave me with a hopeful gaze a pass and a map so I could find him. I started to sweat as I thought about...
the legendary Deep Roads ... *Does that mean you'll go?*
*yes* I choked out
Lady Dacy was mildly amazed about and thankfully as well.

So we left the Diamond Quarter to search for Lord Helmi at the Tavern in the Common Quarter.
Passing in front of the Tavern something strange stinky puddles - probably dwarven vomit - we stepped inside. By the Maker and his Bride - it was... no words to describe the noises and smell in there.
*Do you know that dwarven ale isn't truly ale at all? And it's black.
Marvelous!* Zevran frowned playfully
Nothing others in mind as to left as swift as possible this place I found Lord Helmi - gave him the papers.

Image IPB

Waiting that he ends his rantings, showing pity that I bear such bad news...I started to run nearly out before my stomach starts to revolt. I need air, sky...
Overwhelmed from the icy breeze outside Orzammars gates
I begun to feel a bit better.
It was night - the stars sparkled like diamonds on the velvet black sky.
Enjoying the walk back to the camp I had time to sort all out ... we will see what happens.

I gave Shale some crystals and she was obviously happy as I told her they looking pretty on her.

Alistair gave me one this --- I admire you so much --- views and I walked over to him, still in thoughts.
I asked him quietly if we could reach other Wardens and rebuild the Order - but they were too far away to stop the Blight. We both had not the knowledge to raise the numbers with the Ritual - I started to be hopeless as he ment with a low, gentle voice *Something on your mind NaChaya?*
Emerging from my fears and thoughts I searched for his hazel eyes. *Can I ask you something private Alistair?*
*Of course*
*If you were raised in the Chantry, have you never...?
He raised a brow *Never...? Never what? Had a good pair of shoes?*
*Sex?*
His ears turned into a bright red, but a smile in his eyes showed me he was not mad at me - and my heart jumped heavily.
*Ohhh, so THAT'S what we are talking about. I admit I've never had a woman just ... come out and ask me like this, that's for sure. I, myself, never had the pleasure. Not that I haven't thought about it, of course, but .. you know.*
*You've never had the opportunity?*
*Well, living in the Chantry, is .. not exactly a life for rambunctious boys. They taught me to be a gentleman, especially in the presence of a beautiful woman such as yourself. That's not so bad, is it ?*
*You think I'm beautiful?*
*I.. did I say beautiful? Do you ... have any particular opinion on my saying that?*
Inside a voice yelled at me I am a crazy nut -
*I.. oh ... I might like hearing it. From you*
The voice in my  head increased to a loud shout  - YOU SHUT UP NOW - HE IS THE HEIR TO THE THRONE !!!! -

Alistair gave me a deep longing gaze *Then I'll have to think of something more provocative next time, won't I?
Until then, we should get under way, no? I've many tearful nights in my tent to contemplate after all.*

Image IPB

Then he left me - I stood there, looking crestfallen. What the heck I was thinking ... and doing...
I fled to Morrigan as always. I had found a wonderful mirror in Orzammar for her - he seems much alike the one her mother had smashed to the ground as she was a young girl.
She was clearly deeply touched and then she made a unexpected commitment - in the end as she told me that she had found a true sister in me her voice was hoarse, her lips trembled and it seems she was holding back with a last effort some tears. * I want you to know that while I may not always prove... worthy... of your friendship, I will always value it... sister*

Image IPB

I leaned forward to kiss the cool cheek of hers with a smile.
Then we were going back to business, making tea and preparing some stuff for the Deep Roads together.

I couldn't sleep - the upcoming expedition to the Deep Roads, the doubts on my decision about Bhelen and even Morrigans breakout - all circled like a never ending loop through my brain. My arms folded under my head I was staring blindly up to the dirty cloth from the tent.
But most of all there were two men - so different in her ways, so different in behaviour.
Alistair - I love his way to babble, his innocence, his humour, I love his hazel eyes looking at me. And yet I knew he was slowly fallen in love for me. My heart has told me always there was something close between us. Also my intellect told me this would be an impossible love - I was torn.

Zevran - hiding behind his wonderful cheeky humour, behind his easy going. A wonderful experienced lover - knowing very well how to lift me over the edge. There was so much more behind this mostly grinning face - or behind his professional coldness when the *Assassin* has to come out. With him I felt peace, security, warmth.
And I really forgot all in his arms - even Alistair and the Blight.

So what that means? Can someone truly love two people?
Maybe -- but someone will always be the hurt part in the end, at least that was my belief. I should be able with Magic to put the two together in a ritual - making one man out of two - I bet the outcome would be a flamboyant personality - a low chuckle blew past my lips.

*Ah my dear Warden has something to laugh?* Zevran slipped into my tent, whispering.
He grasped my arms softly, pressing them to the ground and sealed my lips with a passionate kiss. Then he brushed in a teasing manner, barely touching me, over my skin down my neck and travelling over the collarbone. A helpless quiet moan was my answer, since he still pressed my arms to the ground. But I was al ready up in flames.

Image IPB

He whispered something in Antiva on my skin - it was like the delicate touch of a feather - my body answered to his actions with a quiver as he started to remove the blanket. My attempt to remove my arms from under my neck to embrace him ended in a failure, he slowly shook his head with sparkling eyes - I could nothing do as surrender. The sensation of the given pleasure and the waves of lust we felt together washed away any sense of time, any doubts and left us behind in a warm, glowing nest. Sweat, soft moans and little screams, trembling bodys - intermeshed in her own eternity.
A single tear drop blazed her trail over my cheek - Zevran kissed it away with concern in his voice *Anything wrong mi guapo loca?*
Slowly I opened my eyes to seek his gaze. *Not at all - Zevran, not at all.* My thumb moved with a delicate gesture over his lips, embracing his cheek.
*But what the heck means guapo loca ?*
He started to laugh -*... and this was the reason for a tear my little Mage? It means you are a wonderful, crazy, dazzling and impressive beauty. I have to admit CRAZY is the main part ...* He grinned broadly.
He pulled me on his chest, stroking my hair back.
*Oh - Crazy I am... yes.. obviously. I travel with a dangerous, wonderful man - an Antivan Assassin - maybe you know him?*
He chuckled again, pressing his lips on my neck.
*See my dear little Mage there is something I need you to ask* I gave him a light nod, making myself comfortable in his arms.
*You and Alistair are quite close, are you not? I am curious as to the nature of your relationship.*
I cursed inside - he was not only a sensual lover he had also damn good senses for to read me, it seems.
*It's not what you think Zev*
*Isn't it? I've watched you and he together. I know a complication when it rears its head and threatens to bite. You and I have had our fun, but if this thing between you and Alistair is leading somewhere, I'll happily step aside. Complication avoided. Everyone's the happier, yes?*
Damnation ... he asked me this after we loved each other ?
Why... a last time to enjoy my body ?? I tried to sort out the feelings I had - staying quiet for a while and he let me ponder. Howsoever - I wont lose him.
*But I don't want you to step aside.* I whispered hoarse.
Zevran chuckled * And I have no burning need to do so, but this is not so simple a matter.*
His facial expression was serious now, maybe more as he wanted to show. * I make no claims upon you, nor would I dream of such. You are free to pursue your fancies as you desire, and I would have it no other way.
I suspect Alistair, however, would not feel the same way. If there is to be something between you and I, to string him along would only hurt him deeply. Surely you know this is true.*
In this moment my heart starts to fly towards Zevran - there was no doubt left. He cared for Alistair ? A rival who attempt to get my favour, love and heart, too?
My lips sealed his in a gentle kiss - murmuring against them * I want you Zev- there is no question*
He smiled at me *And glad I am to hear it. You will need to be the one that tells Alistair, however.*

Image IPB

My nod and kiss was answer and promise at the same time.
He cleared his throat * My dear Mage, let me tell something about me. I wouldn't have spoken it before, but.... you have been a good friend. There is no reason for me not to speak of it now*
I gave him a curious gaze - noticing his eyes where distant.
*There is a reason I accepted this mission in Ferelden, far away from home and it had nothing to do with any thought that I might leave the Crows. Meeting you, after all, was quite an accident. My last mission before this one ... did not end well.*
He told me about Rinna - his love. About his fears and how willing he was to accept the story Taliesen told him about her, that she had betrayed the Crow. As Taliesen cut her throat she begged him on her knees to believe her and he simple laughed. He watched her bleed staring up at him, spat on her for the betrayal. But he found after her death the true source - Rinna had not betrayed anyone. The Crows didn't care about...
My voice trembled lightly * I'm so sorry Zevran *
Pulling him close to me, he rested his head on my shoulder.
*I felt empty. I felt as if I was nothing. I felt as if she had been nothing. You once asked why I wanted to leave the Crows. In truth, what I wanted was to die. What better way than to throw myself at one of the fabled Grey Wardens?
And then ... this happened. And here I am ...*
Stroking with my fingers gentle through his hair I whispered again how sorry I was for him.
*It ... feels good to speak of it to... someone. I swore I never would. Whatever it is I sought by leaving Antiva, I think I have found it. I owe you a great deal.*
I murmured into his hair *I'm glad to have you with me*
He wrapped the blankets gentle over our body's before finally the sleep overwhelmed us.

Time to put away all anxiety and face the Deep Roads.
The short way from our camp to Orzammar leads us through a small forest. Dog was growling all of sudden deeply, baring his teeth - and then the chaos broke out.
Some well armed men broke through the brushwood and attacked us - Sten let out a blood-curdling scream and his beloved Asala brought like a sharp teeth havoc and death amongst this raiders. I was just about to weave a deadly spell for their leader as Leliana caught my arm *Stop. Don't kill him*
*What? Why not ?*
*He is no common bandit. None of them were. Their weapons and armor are of fine make, and they are well-trained.* She kicked with her feet violent in the man's side. *You know what I am talking about, don't you? Who are you?*
He coughed  heavily, trying to get up on his feet. *Someone who regrets taking you on. Was told it would be an easy job. Kill the little red haired-girl, deal with the others as we pleased.
Leliana raised a brow *Kill the ... you came to kill me?*
I narrowed my eyes * Who is trying to kill Leliana?*

Image IPB

The Assassin Leader coughed again, breathing heavily
*It didn't pay to ask why someone wants someone else dead. I just need to know what to do, and where to get my money.
Ha. money !! I'll be lucky to get away with my life, it seems* He gasped and his face turned much more pale as it was anyway. *Maybe we could work something out? You'll like the idea.*
Leliana's usual sweet girlish voice was hard and cold *Speak quickly.*
*I've no real quarrel with you. Wasn't me that wanted you dead, but I know how you can find the one who does.*
His eyes darting between us with desperate hope
Pointing with my staff towards his heart I answered *Your life for information then.*
* I have some directions written down on how to get to the house. It's in Denerim. Here.... it's the best I can do.* He gave Leliana a note, nervously glancing at my staff.
Leliana plucked the paper from his hand *Thank you. Now leave. I never want to see you again.*
My staff poked the man's chest hard *Get lost, before we change our minds*
He stumbled away fast as he could *Don't worry. I'll not trouble you no more.*
Watching him leave before I turned my eyes to Leliana. Her lips are small she gave me a knowing nod *It's Marjolaine... it has to be.*
I furrowed my brows *Why now?*
She shook her head with a deep sigh *Maybe someone saw me... maybe she finally found me and wants to finish what she started.*
I took her hand in mine, squeezing it softly and calming.*We should go to Denerim soon as possible, to confront her. No one threat a friend of mine!*
She nods with a serious expression on her face *Perhaps it's time to settle this score for good.*

Image IPB

Soon after this unpleasant encounter we set our feet again into the halls of Orzammar to enter the deep roads and search for Lord Dace's patrol.
The Mine's Commander stopped me, telling me no on is allowed to go further.
Showing him the permission with the seal of Lord Dace's daughter he warned me about the danger in the Deep Roads. Smiling about his concern I disclosed that I am a Grey Warden and that a Blight is coming. *Anchestor's save us if that's what happening. Keep following thing in mind - "A fool trusts his eyes. A wise men fears every rock is a deepstalker." Dwarven saying Grey Warden, but a good advice - the Tezpadam hunting in packs, burrowed underground, attacking their prey if its in the midst.*
He bows lightly then to let us pass *Best of luck*

Image IPB

I was tensed like a bow - but it takes my breath away as we stepped finally in. It was grandios - the architecture surely damaged, still majestically in his appearance.

Image IPB

With the help of the map we found the entrance to the tunnel - narrow, sticky and uncomfortable.
The first encounter with the deepstalker was in a special way amazing. This ugly creatures offered a real task to beat them - they spat poison, hurling on us or trying to stun us with scare to overwhelm us. I could Dog safe in the last second heavily bleeding, whilst Leliana and I attacking the beasts from range. Sten in his heavy armor was pretty safe, anyway.
Carefully following the tunnel into a huge hall - or Thaig - we heard fighting - Lord Dace and his men seeming to have trouble. We hasted nearer to the place as  a dozen of Deepstalker's crawled out of the earth. One jumped and  cling on my arm, scratching, biting and it hurts like fire. With a angry scream I flung the damn beast to the near wall - turning into a swarm of stinging insects. A safe way to kill these creatures.
It was a tiring hard fight before we finally reached Lord Dace - a pile of dead body's behind and around us.
Changing my form behind a corner I walked over to Lord Dace - I guess he haven't seen or noticed the insects in the heat of the battle.
He gave me a warm nod *You pulled us from a tight spot, friend. You have my gratitude. I am Lord Anwer Dace.
So what's a human doing out here, anyway?*
I gave him a small smile, bandaging my burning wound on the left arm. *You should look at this papers*
His look was more then puzzled before he read over.

Image IPB

Again his gaze was warm and thankfully, he took my arm in a warrior grip * I owe you twice now, my life and my house's fortune. I must return now, friend. My men and yourself need healing and I want look closer into this. Do you wish travel with us?*
Returning the warrior greet I nodded *Sure. Safety in numbers, right?*
Dog barked happily as if he would show me how glad he was to leave this place.
*Then let us reach Orzammar before more beasts find our scent.*

And then shall be time to meet Prince Bhelen ...

Back at Orzammar Lord Dace and our Party parted as friends and with a smile.
During the couple of hours I though it could be a good idea to seek out the Shaperate, maybe get informations on the papers I still carried with me in my bag.
Another impressive hall - this Shaperate.
My gaze rested on all the books as a dwarf yelled -
*Warden!!!! I'm outraged. A thief in the Shaperate. What have we been reduced too?*
Sten grumbled low under his breath, looking around.
I asked the Assistent if he could have a look at the thief.
*I did. He was bald, with the most garish brand across his head. Almost like he took pride in being casteless! Imagine!* he stirred up *Ah.... he's probably in the slums somewhere. As if he'd find a buyer for a stolen tome in Dust Town. They couldn't know the value.*
Leaving him alone with his anger we moved deeper into this library. A wise looking dwarf stood there, speaking low into my direction.

Image IPB

*When I last walked this hall, Endrin was king and Orzammar was at peace. The Memories often speak of the swiftness with which change overtake us, but it is different to see it firsthand.
I apologize Warden. I should not burden a stranger with such thoughts. I am Czibor, the shaper of memories.*
Blinking surprised about this speech I asked him how he knew about me.
His smile went mild *The Grey Warden's visit has been recorded in the Memories, along with all who accompany you.*
I mused a moment, but this dwarfen thing was to complex to explore it deeper. I took the papers from Vartag out to give Czibor a look at.
He pondered a while before he told me this not the originals *Where did you get these?*
*That's not important Shaper Czibor*
His gaze and voice was sharp *Whom are you protecting? It is a crime against the Shaperate to falsify legal documents.*
*So the papers are forged?*
*not entirely. There were two promised deals, but their terms differed significantly from what is presented here. It appears the scripter altered the dates and locations of the agreements to make them identical.*
*Thank you* I took the papers back. It wasn't a surprise, either. Infact it was what I had expected from " Slimy" Vartag. *I need to have words with someone...*
The Shaper warned me again with a sharp gaze *You are an outsider, Warden, but not outside the law. I hope you will not do anything to challenge the stability of Orzammar.*
Now this time I gave him a mild and cold smile and I left him without further words.

Outside I faced Leliana and Sten *I can't say I like Orzammar or dwarfs in general*
Leliana let out a quiet snicker *But its impressive to walk through - right?* I made quiet a face, looking up to Sten. His thoughts unreadable as mostly he simple gestured towards the Assembly. *Shall we Kadan ?*

Vartag stand there, obviously await us, with a dirty grin.
*Lady Dace just came through the quarter on a tear. She's telling everyone who'll listen what a leech and a liar Harrowmont is. Good job.
So you were serious about wanting to help us.
Are you ready to meet Bhelen now?*
*Of course. He sounds so charming. The papers talented scripted - *
His eyes narrowed *I'm going to assume that wasn't sarcasm. I warn you, be on your best behavior. And keep your weapons sheated.*
My glare told him clearly better to shut up now and bring us to Bhelen - after a moment of hesitating he stepped out of the Assembly and went with us to the Palace.

And here he was, Bhelen himself, eyes, blue and cold like glaciers - his whole posture showed the hunger of power, arrogance and wiliness.

Image IPB

*I am impressed, Warden.* he pauses *Not many outsiders so quickly grasp Orzammar's rather ... convoluted politics. I am Prince Bhelen. Vartag told me of your efforts against the usurper who tried to claim my father's throne.*
Calmly and with a hint of mock I answered *I heard you're the one King Endrin didn't want ruling."
He locked his cold eyes into my face *My father lost two sons when one turned against the other. He was mad with grief and Harrowmont did all he could to drive him over the edge.* He took a breath *I was his only living child and Harrowmont barred me from him! I had to tell him goodbye by common messenger!* I wasn't sure about his expression - but it wasn't the one of a mourning son anyway. *Who's to say what my father said in his final hours when the usurper Harrowmont was the  only one by his side?*
The corner of my mouth twitched lightly *They say YOU killed your own brother to take his place.*
*If you believe that, why you are here?* His voice showed anger and - curiosity.
*Because Harrowmont won't be a strong enough king*
This was a clear statement - I guess he was aware that I disliked or trust him - but for the greater goal I want work with him.
*Then we have a common goal. We may not like each other, but the Blight is our first priority. We need absolutely unity to fight fulcrum of true evil.*
A light dip with my head showed him my consent.
*Then send your men and we will leave for the surface today!* I demanded.

Image IPB

He turned his back towards me, folding his hands there.
Then he explained why he wasn't able yet to help or send troops.
I was running out of patience with this whole dwarf politics and made it very clear.
He turned again and told me about the criminals and gangs in Dust town - especially a woman named Jarvia.
*If I show the city I can eliminate such a threat... Well, let's just say my position would be stronger.*
A quiet huff escaped my lips *What if I took them out for you?*
*If you can eliminate them, I promise as king, I will send as many troops as you need to fight the darkspawn. Unfortunately, I have little information on Jarvia. Her bas power is in Dust Town, the lowest part of the city, and my men have few sources there.
Maybe the casteless will talk more freely with a stranger.*
*I'll look into it. That's all I can promise.*
*That's all I can ask. But I can be of no help until this problem is solved.* He gave me a long long gaze out of his eyes * And every minute we wait, more darkspawn swarm into human lands...*
Frowning I had to admit for myself that was true - damn politics in Orzammar.
I gave him a last forced little bow and left the Palace ...
time to catch up with some criminals in Dust Town.

This is pretty cool. I started a new playthrough last week with a Dalish, and I've been putting together a little diary with screenshots for the character. Unfortunately, the way I've been doing it has been in Microshaft word and its a little bloated, so just to get through the origin story, there are ~40 screenshots and the file is up to 12MB.

But this has been a fun read, I look forward to reading more.
