Everybody rate this 5.
But seriously... the customer should not have to edit the registry. This is some serious bull! Whatever... since it's free I should not complain, eh?

I've made registry files for ME/BDTS -- Based on Zesbans post. Open them in a text editor, like notepad.
Where it says YOURKEY!GOESHERE type in your key---NO DASHES, one for each registry file. Just make sure you get the right names.
ME.reg = MassEffect
BTDS.reg= Bring Down the Sky(yes typo, no it doesn't matter I'm tired)
Save each registry file, DO NOT CHANGE EXTENSIONS
Then double click on each file. Should work like a charm, tested on my own XP64, and Win7-64 boxes.
Don't blame me for any problems, much like Zesban, you use this at your
own risk:

Good stuff zesban, on figuring it out and saving me the trouble of baning my head against the wall.
Thanks Mashiki. And just a reminder all, I wrote a program to do this as well. Check out the forum post at http://social.biowar...1/index/2041007 for details if you're not sure how to use registry files.

I'd really like to know why they're not working because I want to start a new game and I refuse to without BDTS =P.
Thank you in advance

Otherwise the solution works great, thanks a lot for this thread!

EDIT: I follow exactly what has been said. But no matter what I do it begins the validating process and keeps coming up with the whole run out of installs message.
Thank you in advance

I've still got the problem that no matter which process I use I keep getting to the point where it begins the installation by commencing the Validating Licence File and keeps telling me that the limit of installs has been reached. My Girl Friends Computer which is running Windows XP installs it just fine but when I try it on my computer running Windows 7 it just keeps getting to the point mentioned previously. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?
Thank you in advance again

Btw, how did you figure out all the registry keys required to work; and how did you know the BDTS code process had to be terminated?

It took me nearly 4 hours until I found this. I could live without this DLC, but unfortunately not without my characters, wich were already used together with BDtS.
So no fun without this crap.
It's a pain in the arse.

Research. Lot's of research. All of this information was out there but it was scattered. Plus I had a little intuition and some knowledge with PCs to help. (See my post on the application I wrote to do this process for you.) But since it wasn't in one easy to find place I decided to put it together for the community.
I'm glad it's still helping people out.

Thanks a lot Zesban, i can play again thanks to you !
By the way, your quick programme to do it, i tried to download it some days ago but it said "file not available, try latter" and it was a file about 195kb, i wanted to try today but the size as changed, it was a 750kb file, so i didn't downloaded it and i used your tutorial.
But the 750kb file is all right though ?

As I stated in the post with for the app I'm not sure how much I trust the free file host I used but it was the only one I found that didn't require me to create an account.
As always when downloading something from the internet be sure to scan it for malicious software before use. If you'd like I can try to email the app to you directly. Send me an email at BDtSappfix@yahoo.com and I can respond with a copy of the app in a zip file for you.

Having difficulties with the website. http://accounts.biow...mepc_cdkey.html is not working for me. Every time I try to sign in, it just redirects me to accounts.bioware.com, acting as if I never logged in.
I guess this question is slightly off topic, but has anyone else had this problem? I'm about ready just to ask support for help.

I have problems with staying "logged in" on many of Bioware's sites when I'm not running my browser as an Administrator. To do this right click on your browser's icon to launch the application and choose Run As Administrator from the menu. Before trying to run your browser as an Administrator though make sure you have cookies enabled.
A walk-through on checking cookies can be found at:
http://www.google.co...y?&answer=61416
Remember to only run your browser as an Administrator if you're going to visit a trusted site since running your browser as an Administrator can expose holes in your security. And only run it as an Administrator when you have to.
If you continue to have trouble staying logged in then I would try a different browser or contact Bioware's support.

I have no idea why this isn't FAQ'd/Sticky'd/etc... Morquendel. So far it's been relevant enough to stay up on the first page regardless and as long as it's helping people I'm fine with where ever it is. But I will try to bump it if traffic gets dry for a spell since it has been so helpful for so many people. That way it doesn't get too hard to find for those poor future gamers with this same problem.
By the way - "Hello from the past gamers of the future (future... future... future... echo...)!"
