Can someone tell me where i can actually find the old Bioware site? I can't access my keys AT ALL. Every link i've found redirects to social.bioware.com which makes no mention of the first Mass Effect anywhere.

Edit: Never mind, i see i have to go through support to get a new key. I swear i had it in my email but no luck there :/

I have used every method listed and I still can not get the installer to work : (


EDIT: Well the regedit method does work but it seems that the uniersal code is hit or miss, if you purchased the game through Orgins you will have to get you code from EA support

But the game does work now

As many others have already said, thank you Zesban.

Had the same issue running the installer on Win7 64, the app made it work great.
However I didn't follow the instructions to the letter, I placed the app in the directory the BDtS installer was located and entered my ME1 CDKEY and the BDtS key(assuming it's universal that I was provided) and "Set the keys", I didnt have to create any registry keys manually the app did it all. You sir are awesome.

On a side note I read through most of this thread mainly to see if there were revised methods or tested methods by other users with the same OS, and I have to say it never fails even when someone is doing something positive and without compensation and yet still negative Nancy's seem to always chime in with nothing constructive and frankly just plain talk down to others......very sad, all in all though it's good to see some positivity on here.

PS: To those that always say contact EA contact EA, do you realize how rare it is to get a support agent that knows how to anything other than say: "go here....download the dlc......here is a key.....it will work."? I spent hours with multiple agents trying to resolve this through EA and I kept getting the same response over and over again despite me telling them that their "solution" isn't working. So think about that next time you ram EA support as a positive solution down people's throats when you chastize them for inquiring about a solution on the DEVELOPERS forums.

Can't get this to work for me. I'm using the FixBDtS.exe application, insert the keys, click Begin Install, and it always says "Unsupported 16-Bit Application", saying it's incompatible with 64-bit versions of Windows.

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.


EDIT: nevermind, got this to work, Windows stupidity. Thanks for the Fix app!

Well ****, I'll be damned.

I've been having problems with my installer crashing out even when trying to go step by step manually as in this thread. As a last ditch effort, I went and downloaded the program the OP created (and linked to in another thread in the OP).

I ran into the same problem (the installer crashing) however while the "crash" window was open saying I could close the program, or look for a solution online and close the program, I hit the "close key window" button in the application window, and clicked on the "x" instead of one of the two choices presented to me in the crashed installer.. and hot damn, the install went on as planned and installed!

Brilliant!

Glad I have BDtS installed now. Hopefully this same poster made something for Pinnacle Station as well!

Click on "Talk to a game advisor", make the thread and ask for "Bring Down They Sky" code (write your original ME code inside)
I have got the response after about 1 hour (first letter with discount promocode for EA store and second with BDtS code).

P.S.: No, i can't post my key because it is only "one time use", moreover after i installed Win 7 i need another key because this is not working now, lol.

Is german version like russian - contains only localized subtitles without native english texts? I guess your version must have all euro languages. Did you try to activate it through origin by "redeem product code"?

Anyway, you better ask english game support they must know all

I had a resolution problem on Win7 x64. I ran the launcher as admin and my selected settings saved correctly.
