With all the powers available in Mass Effect 2, which power did you find the most uselss? Which one did you not use just because you didn't see the point of them?
I personally found the Cryo Ammo/Blast to be anything but useful. I can't find a way to implement them in my playing style. I rather choose Disrupter Ammo/Overload and Incendiary Ammo/Blast. Maybe other folks did find the Cryo powers useful, but here is just my opinion.
So people, give me your opinions.
And go.
The most useless power in Mass Effect 2

Squad Cryo Ammo is awesome.
Most useless is Shredder Ammo.

I second Mister Mida's (
). My playstyle doesn't give me a chance to embed Cryo-Blast/-Ammo usefully. If their defenses are down, their health is surely fast to follow. And for the Husks, ... there's still the Avalanche!

Fortification for shep, hands down. After that would be shredder for shep. After that, assuming insanity, shockwave on shep.
Also, squad cryo is awesome.

...?
Squad Cryo is one of the most useful powers in the game, by far. Load it up on your squadmates and it's practically guaranteed to save your bacon at least 5 times per mission.
Don't have to use it yourself. Hit Squad Cryo, then Heavy ammo of your choice.

Hmm, never used Cryo, always ignored it and went for the other powers. Never thought of it as being useful. Why wasn't i told.^^
What i used a few times and then considered useless and changed back (bonus power thingy) was this shield that grunt has, forgotten the name.

Remember a frozen husk is a dead husk; Cryo + heavy pistol ftw- 1 shot to health = 1 frozen enemy.

Charge, that really shouldn't have been a power at all...
...instead, it should have been the most basic way of movement for every class.

Or just replace sprinting with a form of charge for vanguardsKaiser Shepard wrote...

Any of the shield powers. Medi-gel does their job just as well with a MUCH shorter cool down.

Cryo ammo is actually pretty darn useful before you even get to the squad ammo level. I pop cryo ammo on my Eviscerator, drain an enemy's shields with one shot, shoot another, and shoot another. Reload, the first guy is just starting to un-thaw and is each pickings.

Cryo ammo can provide crowd control as you can have enemies frozen while you concentrate on bringing down the defenses of another. Not to mention the satisfaction of a shattering melee attack. Upgrade it to squad cryo, and frozen enemies everywhere.
However, there are other crowd control methods and other methods of bringing down defenses quite quickly. As an Infiltrator, I found myself wanting to put points into other powers that prevented me from having the necessary points into squad cryo. I did alright.
The most useless of powers definitely goes to Shredder Ammo. Once defenses go down, death is so close to following as to make shredder round irrelevant. I could probably find some area of the game that benefits from every other power, but not shredder ammo. Unless maybe I was playing on casual difficulty.

Squad cryo ammo rules. It's not about the guy you're focusing on... It's about the other guys you weren't paying attention to that are now completely CC'ed. Plus, you can activate squad cryo and then give Shep a different ammo power.
As for Cryo Blast, I found that extremely useful on my Sentinel, mainly because it's nearly as good with 1 point as it is maxed out. Of course it wasn't useful on each enemy, but it definitely came in handy at times. Against Krogan, it was fun to overload their shields, tear down the armor, then freeze them. Gave me the option to start killing others or run up and melee him to death. Very useful ability.

Cryo Blast is sick. Just freeze and melee him; your the next Sub-Zero.

Charge/Reave.
Because spamming the hotkey automatically wins you the game.

Spamming Charge does not win you anything. You need to think about when to Charge.
Agree about Reave though, hate that ability.

Reave and Charge are my two favorite abilities!
I hate Pull personally... but again its just my opinion, pull was far too "slow" for me.
I'd Reave a target, Charge, then Shockwave... or Shockwave> Charge> Reave....
Or.... just charge charge and charge again =D

My vote goes to Cryo Blast/AI hacking. The first is completely useless, the second might as well be.

A lot of the 'bad' powers are simply worse versions of other accessible powers - Shredder Ammo to Armor Piercing Ammo, or Fortification to Barrier. Cryo Blast plays a lot like Pull, but with a weaker effect and longer cooldown (but native AoE).
On Insanity, Fortification is easily the weakest power overall; the shields are balanced around being god-mode on normal when spammed on recharge, but all they do is buy you half a second on Insanity at the cost of a horrendous cooldown. Can't get excited about a strictly-worse version of Barrier.
Neural Shock and Shredder Ammo are the other totally worthless powers - Neural Shock is an organic only, 0 damage, 0 warp explosion version of Slam; Shredder Ammo is essentially strictly worse than Armor Piercing Ammo.

can i just group one category as a whole and call it the worst ability in the game? because thatd be using biotics on higher difficulty settings. biotics are pointless in hardcore and insanity.
pointless.
pointless.

Most useless powers:
1) Shield Abilities (Fort,Barrier,Geth Shield Boost) - their descriptions should read "prevents you from using a useful power for 12 seconds."
2) Shredder Ammo - absolutely useless on hardcore/insanity when using a hard hitting weapon. Only slightly useful when using automatic weapons. On the other hand, it's probably a bit overpowered on normal.
3) Inferno Grenade - draws you in with the cool graphics/animations. Then you realize that it can't be upgraded by research of any kind and so sucks very very hard.

I play a soldier on at least hardcore, and cryo ammo is pretty useless for me, with everyone having protection and such. Not only does it hog up way too many points to get it (have to go through disruptor and inferno ammo), but it only works on health (and gives no damage bonus). so i'd rather get a power that helps me kill them faster.
Other than that, any shield power, the recharge is way too long.
And in response to The Troll, i used Samara and Thane on the collector base and swept it no problem on insanity. I needed their biotics to get rid of all those damn barriers (and the armor of the husks).
