Harbinger will eventually arrive above Earth. During the gameplay in Mass Effect 3 it will be similar to the Dragon Age concept. Instead of recruiting a squad, you recruit an army.
The final battle begins. The Quarian fleet, Turians and Alliance led by Admiral Hackett engages Harbinger and several other Reapers in the sky.
On the ground invading Praetorians, Scions and Husks engage an army of Krogan and Geth Troopers. This particular battle doesn't go very well, and when all things look desperate, Rachni warriors burrow from the ground kill every Reaper soldier.
While this battle rages on, Shepard and his squad use the Normandy to infiltrate Harbinger. After an intensive battle with the Reaper's true "self", Shepard uses him to send a message to all Reapers to rendezvous near Haestrom. By some hidden plan, which i dont know about, the sun explodes, killing all Reapers.
Either that or you use your Paragon/Renegade points to convice the turian councilor to do a suicide run
"Ah yes, Reapers. I shall kill them all just to prove my point."

The citidel is a massive mass relay that links to dark space, there HAS to be a companion relay on the other end, in dark space. As long as the Citidel is intact there will always be a threat that its link can be opened and allow the Reaper fleet through. So there are really only 2 options.
1. Destroy the Citidel (which also disables the entire mass relay network). Threat over, Reapers will run out of energy before they can arive in our galaxy.
OR
2. Figure out how to trigger the Citidel to link only to dark space, one way (as the Protheans did from Ilos to the Citidel), and Shepard and crew go off on the ultimate suicide mission to destroy the remote relay thus preventing the Reapers from ever returning again.
Since the galaxy needs the relay system in tact and functining, the only other option is #2.
We have all the data mined from Vigil, we have a working one way relay from Ilos to the Citidel, it won't take long to apply that to link to dark space.
I doubt the plot is going to revolve around finding a way to keep the Reapers from coming back yet again. It's time to cover some new ground, ground that involves kicking their shiny robot asses. Besides, it's not like the Reapers can possibly be so far out that they'd run out of fuel before reaching the galaxy by conventional means, since they would have had to use those conventional means to fly out to where the built the relay in the first place.
Besides, I'm not sure how successful "Plan Destroy a Relay" would even be. The codex says they're made out of the same wondertanium alloy as the Citadel. You know, the same Citadel that can stand up to several days of sustained dreadnaught fire from an entire fleet of ships before its defenses are compromised? And don't forget how the Mu Relay came out the other side of a supernova without so much as a scratch. The things are built to last.

I say most Likely is an advance version of the one in Illos.
One that just opens a corridor from dark space without a copanion relay. Otherwise They would have just waited to launch another attack on the citadel and this time better prepared to just open it.
The Conduit had a companion relay. It's the Relay Monument in the Citadel. They just hadn't figured out how to make a relay pair work both ways, which is what Vigil was talking about when he said it was a one-way trip.

These relays would have to be destroyed from the inside out. They are structures and have internal power sources that could be compromised. Don't be so short sightedMcjon01 wrote...

Same could be said of the Reapers.

True, but it is magnitudes more difficult to infiltrate a sentient machine/ship than it is to gain access to a mass rely that has no inteligence at all.Mcjon01 wrote...

It's also magnitudes more useful to destroy the sentient starships invading the galaxy than it is to mildly inconvenience them with the task of building a new relay when they're done wiping everything out. Sending the main character on a fool's errand with no return seems like poor strategy.

1.) The Reapers have to travel back to the Milky Way under their own power, which leaves them somewhat drained and weakened.
2.) Some sort of virus/'big stick' weapon.
3.) The combined intellectual capabilities and firepower of all the united races of the galaxy just waiting for the Reapers to arrive.

Use all the relays as weapons and aim them at the reapers, that or put up a do not disturb sign at the border off the galaxy.

You know what? I bet there will be a central like Reaper server battleship that coordinates you attacks and your team will infiltrate it during a large scale battle and you destroy it from the inside and once that happens the Reaper fleet will become disorganized.
You mean Harbinger?

Wouldnt they use a mesh topology instad of a star topology for their network infastucture? its much more effecient, especialy with its inherint redundancy for combat situations.Mad Oreo 112091 wrote...
