Hi, I bought a copy of the game a couple of days back, being a fan of Icewind Dales/Neverwinter games I’m finding Dragon Age fkin awesome, but I was having a number of problems.

1)      Cut scenes such as the battle of Ostagar was running REALLY choppy.
2)       The armour on some NPC’s would take on the textures of items around them or of other NPC’s clothing who was also in the shot.
3)      Some internal textures such as floor, walls, ceiling (sometimes all) would appear black.
4)      In certain places the game would become extremely lagy.

So I have been going over the forums trying all the fix's I can... I tried running the game through 1 core instead of 4, I tried altering the sound settings, I even tried turning down my graphic settings Posted Image
But none of this made a bit of difference.

I’m running on an Nvidia 9600 768mb GC.

So this morning I tried disabling the PHs GPU Acceleration and wouldn’t you know it the game has been running beautifully all day with no glitch’s what so ever and no kicks to desktop. (touch wood)
To deactivate the PHs Simply

1)       Go to your desktop and right click.
2)      Select NVIDIA Control Panel from the drop down menu.
3)      Then Select “Set PHs Configuration” from the left side of the control panel
4)      Click “Disable”

That’s it… You’re done

I hope this helps you out. I haven’t been back to check the cut scene’s but as I said since I did this I have had NO problems at all thus far. Posted Image

Ok so I wen't back and started the game again but the opening cut scene was still a lil chopy so I guess it didn't fix everything but I still have had no more texture glitch's or kicks to DT.

Disable ALL the online upload options and you should be fine. Had the same problem and fixed it by doing that and updating Vista to Service Pack 1 (or 2)

Hey Shen, I disabled the auto upload stuff, and my windows/drivers are all up to date but the... "epic" cut scenes are still choppy.

No biggy really all the other cut scene's are working fine and the game is running smoothly, I just have to watch the fight for Ostagar on youtube ^_^ lol.

But thanx for the advice, maybe others will find it useful.

Thought I'd post in here rather than start a new topic:

I also have this flickering texture issue, where they keep flashing black. Disabling PhysX (which I assume is what the OP meant) does solve the flickering to black issue, but the problematic areas still look odd. It seems as though there are textures where there shouldn't be, or that they don't blend correctly into surrounding textures. I've taken a couple of screenies to show you what I mean.

Anyone else had this issue or know how I can fix it?

Many thanks for reading. ^^
