I would have liked to have seen the fight go on a bit longer. It seemed to end far to quickly. Though after Samara had threatened to kill police officers back when I recruited her there was a sick satisfaction hearing that crunching noise when Morinth offed her.

Morinth would kill police officers if they hadn't been in her way. Just as long as they're "interesting."

Kill them one at a time, over the course of months? as compared to slaughtering an entire precinct clean cops or not because they were "doing their job" to detain her while investigating a murder.

Who knows how frequent Morinth kills.

I'm sure Morinth would collectively gobble them all up if she was able, and they were interesting enough. For Samara, they have to be obstructing justice, for Morinth, all they need to be is tasty. I'm not saying that Samara is perfect, but she's certainly better than Morinth.

Obstructing justice based on the Justicar code. Not necessarily the code of whatever world shes currently on.

At least there's a code at all.

Look, we all know that what Samara does is, by human standards, far and away not a 'good thing' when applied outside a jurisdiction she holds authority in.  But anyone trying to paint her as worse than Morinth, or tying to paint Morinth as anything other than a horrific monster, is being willfully ignorant at the very least.

As compared to letting the person that openly states she'll basically kill a room full of innocent people that "got in her way" because they slowed down her mission??

Well ... I choose Samara, and she later told me how she once hunted a Turian spectre named Nihlus. He got away by setting her up: she could either go after him and kill him or she could save a village of innocent bystanders, but not both at the same time. Nihlus got away that day.

GothamLord wrote...

Samara's whole reason for becoming a Justicar is nothing more than trying to clear her own conscience for being a Evil Demon Making Machine.

She accepts her responsibility and sets out to clean up the mess she  made, in a way consistent with Asari culture.

GothamLord wrote...

Atleast Morinth I can control easier. Samara's says in the Renegade option that after the mission she'll kill me once her oath is over.

Samara stated she would have to kill you (or make a serious attempt) if you forced her to act dishonourable while she was oathbound to your mission. I'd consider that a fair warning, so you might reconsider about trading in red sand and slaves while you should be busy saving the galaxy?
And control of Morinth - just wait until she takes her next shore leave and leaves the port littered with bodies burnt out from pleasure overload. Of cause that's none of your concern if you fell for her pass before.

Never claimed Morinth was innocent. She is a serial killer. No way around that. She however is the victim of a genetic disorder and a mother who fails on multiple levels. Samara didnt try and track down Morinth when she ran to bring her back and force her into isolation. She became a Justicar to justify killing her without hesitation. Samara is NOT innocent in anything shes done. A mother than wishes to kill her daughter rather than help her gets no sympathy from me. And people seem to forget Thane is a damn assassin, or Jack is a psychopath and probably killed just as many people. Morinth on the crew is no worse than anyone else.

Morinth has been doing what she does for 400 years. Shes not stupid. I highly doubt she'd leave a port "littered" with bodies. I mean seriously? That would be totally out of character for her to do.

????????????????

(PS. Sorry Garrus/Miranda/Mordin/etc fans, would include them but the person I'm responding to might mention the people they killed =/)

Morinth is a monster. She has no code, other than she likes eating the brains of interesting people. She doesn't HAVE to do this, yet she does. So I say **** you Morinth.

Tali is about the only one that there might be basis on. Legion is a machine and the geth are not bound by the same emotional basis of right and wrong as humans and other alien species. As for Jacob we really dont know his full back story with Cerberus or as an Alliance Corsair. I doubt Jacob is squeaky clean with anything. TIM respects him as a loyal solider, meaning if he gave him a order to shoot, he would follow through.

Really? She's kept a low profile because she knew her mother was out there and hunting her. That has been taken care of, with a little help from you. Outside Asari Space people don't know jack about Ardat-Yakshis. All that could restrain her hunger is her own standard of who will qualify as prey.

Samara, I felt a little bad, but what really made me feel like crap was when I got that e-mail thanking me for finding Nef's killer and avenging her.Image IPB

Yes really. Shes a serial killer. Serial killers dont become what they are by being stupid. Most serial killers are highly intelligent, they however are mental disturbed. You act like outside of Asari Space police still arent going to look into murder investigations. Any civilized location she goes to shes going to have to keep a low profile. Omega has no real law and she kept her head down. You really think that was because of the girl's mother?? I doubt the mother was any threat to a biotic of her level.

I didn't feel anything. Is as if, a crack addict, killing people to get money to buy more crack was killed.

That wouldn't even be news in any country on the planet, let alone be anything worth my attention beyond the "oooohhhh, ahhhhhh" of the biotic fight :P

I've never felt more evil in this series than I did when I killed Samara.

Seriously, there's seemingly NO reason for you to do it. Other than possibly just being a huge ****hole.

My first play through was with my Renegade Shepard and I was totally confused at the choice. Killing Samara is totally unmotivated. You already know that Samara is sworn to you, and there's NO reason to believe Morinth will honor her desperate plea for help. She's a murderer who's deceived and manipulated people for 400 years, and you're supposed to think "Oh, no, she really meant it this time."?

So anyway, I felt fine when Morinth died. I did let her live once for the bonus power and to see what happens.

It's a good thing that carpet seems to have been fazed out in the future. Was I meant to care that she killed her psycho daughter? I missed that part..

Exactly.  Morinth would be the closest thing to a vampire, her addiction is also her lifestyle.   It's gone way past being a compulsion when she targets an impressionable kid like Nef on Omega.   If she just stalked poor Nef,  that would be one thing, but she also brainwashed her.  It wasn't enough for Morinth that she was going to always end her life, she needed Nef to devalue herself as trash in order for her to become obsessed.

Morinth starts killing her victims long before the final deed.  She's just savoring every moment of it.

Depends how you interpret her relationship with Nef. One could see her as the sort of vampire who actually genuinely *likes* her victims in an extremely twisted way, and in fact only eats the people she likes... er, you know what I mean. XD I found it interesting how many of her own genuine interests she shared with Nef, which makes me think that part of the pleasure in the kill is forming that connection with a real kindred spirit.

Not saying that she's all fluffy and affectionate over Nef, more... I don't know, it's hard to explain. Like part of the reason she chooses her victims is *because* she's attracted to them, and vice versa. I guess I imagine Morinth's internal monologue as, "Look at her. She's so creative, and shy, and vulnerable... she has such a beautiful spark. I HAVE to have her. That spark will be at its most beautiful as it fizzles out." Thus I didn't really interpret her treatment of Nef as "devaluing" her or killing her before the final blow, more as an incredibly twisted way of cultivating the relationship so that Nef could be her "perfect mate" (both in a real sense and as a victim; they're one and the same to Morinth). Not that that's much better, but it's a bit different... a more subtle evil, if you will.
