Don't worry, the Collector Ship doesn't have that many Husks.

It's the Derelict Reaper that has a crapton of them. I mean, really, did the Illusive Man send the entire population of a small city to study that thing?!

The First thing you do on the last stage of Horizon is run towards the balchony/platform on the left side of the map with your squadmates (from the entrance) where the first husks spawn. Use whatever weapon you have to your disposal and remove the 2 scions, i used cain to save time, the rest is a cakewalk.

After so many darn playthroughs (doing number 8 at the moment, and I'm not bored of the game yet), I generally can't be bothered with the stupendous hordes of Husks you get at the Reaper Core itself.  Instead, I one-shot it with the Cain the very moment the 'Legion gets decked' cinematic ends. While the core's cover closes as the shot fires, it takes enough damage, even on Insanity.

Just did this last night, Insanity, level 11 Vanguard. Actually it ended up being a lot easier than Jedore and her mech. At the last minute, I chickened out and went:
6 Incendiary
10 Heavy Charge
6 Assault Mastery
1 Slam

Originally I had 3 points in Incendiary and 3 Warp Ammo I think. Took Garrus and Mordin (made Garrus use the sniper rifle). Avalanche was my heavy weapon. I think I hit a Scion with it at the start. Tried to use it on the Praetorian a bit but  kept missing.

I used the 'run like mad' gambit for the first part, didn't like the idea of wasting the Scions prior to the AI activating or stopping the husk wave. Worked quite well. Garrus and Mordin didn't buy it until there were only 3 husks running around and one of the Scions was nearly dead. Cleaning up was easy. I should've used Charge more to keep my barrier up, at one point I was at 50% health, another Shockwave would've wasted me. The only thing about this was I was surprised at how much damage Garrus and Mordin managed to do to one of the Scions, that may have been the Avalanche's influence.

Against the collectors I hid a lot more and whittled them down a bit with powers before Charging and picking them off. Wasn't really too different from Hardcore. Pretty standard Vanguard stuff (ELBOW HARBINGER! RIGHT IN THE FACE!)

The Praetorian I just stormed around the place from cover to cover, plinking at him with the SMG whenever I could. He landed on Garrus once (for that I used Medigel). I could've used the Avalanche better. Wasted a couple shots, think I missed him every time. The Praetorian is only annoying (IMO) when he decides to land on you with 2% of his health left, so... Don't let him do that.

I managed to do it by putting Grunt and Miranda on the stairs and I hid behind them from the husks while I lit up the scions with the collector beam gun.

Crowd control: Any ability that stops an enemy or delays them in addition to or instead of damage. Singularity does little damage but keeps enemies from moving and tosses unshieded/unarmored/unbarriered enemies into the air.

Either that or carbon copy :)

Are the spawning husks infinate on insanity?

On Horizon, no; they are triggered only by certain events or actions.

In many other spots, they are inifnite (like the N7: Abandoned Mine mission) or will continue to spawn while the Scion is on the field (like the Reaper IFF mission).
