Ranting about the Hammerhead DLC

Thanks for your support and maturity. The internet needs more people like you.
@Karstedt
Thanks for making me laugh... all these uneducated morons were hurting my brain with their nonsense and i needed a chuckle...
@everyone else
I don't understand how you can all be so discriminatory against me simply for stating MY OPINION... It is exactly that, so how can you tell me I'm wrong?! An opinion can neither be right nor wrong... it's just an opinion!
In stating the DLC thus far is garbage, I'm simply breaking out of my "BW fan" bubble and am being unbiased and non-subjective. a critic has to view everything as neutral, otherwise their critique will be biased, scewed, and unfair, thus making it not a critique.
BW is not going to condone you for your loyalty in defending them, just as BW is not going to condemn me for expressing my negative opinion on their progress thus far...
Grow up little kiddies... It's time to start the big-boy discussions now!

Let me start by saying this, I know I'm gonna get flamed for this... And I don't care... I will respond to any serious discussion about whatever I have said. All flamers will be ignored, and you will have wasted that much more of your limited brainspace...
This DLC was in NO way "fun." It was an extremely boring, extremely linear, waste of time and space on my hard drive...
BW didn't even think to bundle any achievements with this... while Zaeed got an achievement simply for walking up to him and pressing "A"... Achievements would not have made these missions better, but at least they'd have a reason to be played....
These missions have nothing to do with anything in the game. They're just tossed in, and on my next playthrough I'll skip right passed them...
As for the handling, I found it awkward... A vehicle should not handle identically to a Human. It makes it feel much less like a vehicle... The Mako fondly reminded me of a Warthog from Halo: CE. It was clunky, but you got used to it. It felt like a vehicle...
Yes, it's free... but it's complete garbage... BW isn't even trying here... There's literally like 50 words of dialogue added, 5 crap missions that take about 4 minutes to complete each... they focused so much on giving the hammerhead good control they neglected everything else consumers/customers/fans look for...
Personally, i'd give this DLC not a 2.5/10. It was obviously rushed, had very very very very little creativity, BW clearly was looking to save money on this so they didn't bring in any voice-actors.... and so I say unto you BW, "Meh..." The only reason I give it such a "high" score for what it is is the fact that it's free...
Free garbage is still garbage... clean, smooth, fancy garbage... yep, still garbage...
Hopefully Kasumi will offer us a bit more...
I swear to GOD BW if Kasumi is recruited by walking up to her and talking to her on Omega i'm trading my ME2 into Gamestop and boycotting not just ME but any and every BW game ever to come... As this will make it very apparent that you have only your wallet's interest in heart, and not the satisfaction of your fans...
1) I don't mind linear
2) No achievements because they used up the CN "Free" achievement with Zaeed, Microsoft is screwy this way
3) ...So? Not to sound antagonistic but I really can't think of anything to go with that
4) I liked its handling, only plus I would give it
5) Hammerhead is fast, big levels that go through quickly because its fast, Sonic the Hedgehog dilemma, no way around it. Mako would not suffer from that problem, but I hate the mako.
6) Its a demo really, nothing more nothing less. A test for feedback if you will
7) word
8) Standard level
9) Is recruited by talking to advertisements on teh Citadel then walking up to her/yes to both

This is why this site is known for the ****ty fanbase, you all **** about everything.
Not to mention that some people actually do like it. I thought is was really cool, and will work really well in ME3.

The HH has great potential. It's just that the initial DLC for it came across as a piece of unfinished business - that's a development issue. And really, the Mako wasn't all that bad. I genuinely appreciated the firepower. The physics were a little funky, and some of the planetary landscapes weren't a stellar production, either. But it didn't frustrate me the way the HH did. Hopefully, BW wil clean up the HH AND patch the initial DLC for it as it needs must.Karstedt wrote...

Another thought: why not have BOTH for ME3?

My beef with the hammerhead are the controls.
1. I had to come to the forum to learn the controls because what the game told me wasn't the right buttons.
2. also hate picking up stuff off the ground since half the time the vehicle hovers away from the target and you have to start over again (WTF does that have to be frustrating? It didn't have to be
3. The shooting. maybe I missed something, but the rocket launcher auto targets. So instead of hitting that target you want, it goes for that target it wants unless you move your vehicle around.
It's free and I don't mind but they could have done a better job in making it less frustrating. There is no excuse for giving you the wrong info on buttons to push to pilot this thing. To those that were wondering, no I never changed my keyboard settings, I always played the game set at the default.
I'm more irked at the katsumi release though. She was meant to be in the game from the beginning but bioware chopped her out because either they were having issues with her mission or they thought they can make an extra 7 bucks per customer.

If there's one thing I learned about Bioware over the course, it's that they LISTEN. It's just that they overreact. People don't like the Inventory system? To the trash bin with the whole thing! No fun with the Mako? NO VEHICLES AT ALL! Want Tali as a LI? DO IT (but that one was a little hard to overreact on).
Bioware didn't have to throw us the Hammerhead. But they did (for FREE, no less). It's obvious that they're getting feedback and refining it to perfect it for either future DLC or Mass Effect 3.
Now, if I'd had to pay for the Hammerhead, I'd be crapping bricks in anger. But I didn't.

I agree completely.. Just becaus its free doesn't make it good. The fact that it is free gives it points... but that doesn't excuse its linear gameplay and pointlessness.
For those that are arguing that we shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth... the reason you don't look a gift horse in the mouth is so you don't get vomited on like this....
Sure its great that it is free, but you know what else is free... Gum on the side of roads, diarrhea, and like my friend Razor124 said... Garbage.
Bioware, I still love

I have high hopes for Kasumi as well but BioWare usually delivers when it comes to that. All I need is more armor packs! I'm a Sim player at heart and I love havng clothes options.
Anyway, you brought up good points but try not to judge so harshly. BioWare is trying their best to give us a good experience....let's cut them some slack. That's just my opinion.

to summarise - you can't state opinions as if you are stating facts. this only makes you seem like an very angry, juvenile person. I had tons of fun with hammerhead, and in my opinion Hammerhead is nowhere near being garbage. Yes, i DO see flaws the Hammerhead has, (as a vehicle) and i do see enormous field to improvement on the mission part but that didn't stop me from just habing FUN.

Except Bioware isn't making anything for us...
Kasumi is already on our game disks that we paid $60 for!
Now we just have to pay $7 more dollars to UNLOCK her from our disk and make her playable!!!
Cut them some slack for taking complete advantage of their fans... PASS!

1st.
The sentence "Hammerhead is a garbage" is not stating an opinion.
The sentence "I think that Hammerhead is a garbage" is stating an opinion.
2nd.
You asked for conversation, and even criticized someone was not reading your whole post. How i'm supposed to react to the fact that your response is a response only to the last paragraph? What about my other arguments?

The tank just moved front and back and side to side as if the player was handling a human... A vehicle needs to stop and turn it's wheels and maneuver to make turns. But the HH just did it...

Except they did make millions of dollars... On the money we ALREADY spent buying the game that should have come with this content in the first place. Now they're trying to cash in even more by charging us for Kasumi, which we already have the capability of playing on our disks that we already paid for!

2) Kasumi isn't on the disc. All that's there is a few lines of dialogue and a placeholder model that can be used in the suicide mission. This does not equal a full character.
