Okay, I installed both the 1.01 patch and the toolset last night. I am able to play around with the toolset, but when I try to launch the game itself, I can click on the play button (from autolaunch) and nothing happens. I uninstalled the toolset and DA and reintalled DA and the 1.01 patch. I have no idea what I need to do.

I'm having the exact same problem:

WIndows 7 64bit

4GB RAM

NVidia GTX275

When I click the DA icon from the "Games" menu the program silently dies. Doesn't work. If I launch the game from the "Launcher" in the game directory it works. This didn't happen before the patch.

Apparently it is a widespread issue (myself included). Nothing to do but wait for them to patch it. Shouldn't be too long, but I wouldn't count on playing today :(

XP PRO SP2 on b975dx2/N2220, geforce 9600gt

I can't get the game to start at all after installing 1.01. When I try to launch daorigins.exe it says the application cannot be started, and to try reinstalling. That's what I have to do, I guess...

I installed the patch because when I played the game, it had an extreme tint (mostly red). Now I have the same problem as you guys. I messaged one of the Bioware staff about it yesterday, but I haven't gotten a response.

Well, I just reinstalled the game....Im NOT going to be reintalling the patch....seems to be the patch that is causing all the issues. As I was looking, some people are thinking that its something to do with the  C++ library....the link is in here somewhere: http://social.biowar...58/index/127718

Just disable the driver in your hardware.

Bibbel, make sure your Windows Update has been running and, therefore, completely up-to-date.

If you are your Windows would have the latest C++ runtime libraries which would allow you to run Dragon Age 1.01.

Here's the manual download you can try: http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

Download and install the vcredist_x86.exe package

If your C++ library is too out-of-date however it may not solve the problem but it's worth a try.

for those too lazy to look :P
