Furthermore, you didn't state where you got this information from, anyway. You just lazily waved your hand towards something that is still yet UNDEFINED with a vague 'oh, it was some sort of release from EA and Bioware that I've got' statement.

Honestly Zero I can barely understand what you are trying to say. You have information that Bioware released that tells you the game is like everything else out there? Is that information that this is an RPG or that it's in a fantasy setting?



You're post was about what is different about this game. Whether you like the game or not it has an extremely in depth world, phenomenal voice acting, great characters, and a compelling story (it may be cliche, but the characters make it compelling). I don't think that I have ever played a game with better characters. The banter between Morrigan and just about any other character is awesome. Are any of those things completely new? No they aren't, but it does them better than any games that have come out in a long time.



You may form an opinion by reading about a game, but it is not a credible, informed opinion. I know a lot about London, but I have never been there. If I were to give an opinion on whether it is a good or bad city it would be rather silly of me. I could say that I think I will not like it, but I can't form a legitimate opinion on it.

I can tell, If you say anything against this game, there will come horde of trolls and starting to persuade you how this game is good. Its common effect of marketing and hype. We can only pray that their eyes will open and they will see that DA isnt really RPG but action game.

I'm Isaac Newton, and I have realised the existence of a law I call the law of Gravity. However, I will not try to convince any of you lazy buggers it's true. I'll just stand here and shout "LAWL, GRAVITY EXISTS, NAB!" and unless you're lazy, you'll figure out why I'm right at some point.

Isaac Newton was at the very least very very informed in his opinion, but if he had done as I did in the previous paragraph, I don't think he had convinced anyone that gravity existed. You keep referring to some information Bioware released. When having a proper logical argument, you're not supposed to source your opponents wild claims, you're supposed to source your own.

An interesting read but i am still waiting for OP to give me concrete reasons as to why this game is so bad? I would also like to know what they consider great RPG games and why. Clearly they have a set standard of how these games should be and i want to see where their viewpoint is coming from.

 I love this game. But man, some people are really angry that ZeroMystic isn't seeing things the way they do. A difference in perspective is threatening, I guess. I enjoy the game for the story and the setting (and some of the characters are interesting to me), but I'm not going to bash someone for not sharing my opinion on an RPG.

You're wrong. I have a secret memo here that says you're wrong on every single level of everything you just said.

He's entitled to his opinion. But he's not necessarily entitled to have his opinion without ridicule. That's not what freedom of speech is about. The problem is that he stated "lolz, this game is pretty bland" at a time where he had played less than half an hour of it. I'm all for a critical dialogue about the game. But I'd like to discuss with a person who actually knows what he is talking about. Not Zero, who hasn't exactly proven to know what the heck he's talking about.

BIOWARE RELEASED THIS INFORMATION. Is not a citation. If I said ZERO MYSTIC RELEASED THIS INFO to my professor and told her she had to look it up...well I would be charged with plagerism or strangled. Whichever is more appropriate. The game is cool, the story is cool - it certainly is one of the best CRPGS ever made.

However, it has many glitches - which is not surprising, Bio tried something completely new here. Unfortunately many "glitches" are things we're well used to from other RPG games ...

Everyone who knows anything about D&D knows that in order to actually fully understand the the 2nd Edition D&D rules, someone has to verbally go over all the mechanics of it with you.

False, ergo an assumption. You can pick up 2nd edition D&D rules by reading. You can also learn this by being tutored by text via someone else. I only 'got' 2nd edition via text from someone else and from backwardsly applying 3rd edition rules to 2nd edition.

FACT 3:
Anyone that knows about BG2, knows that Balder's gate 2 has and uses the 2nd edition D&D rules

True. This is a fact.

FINAL FACT:
Anyone that knows about the 2nd Edition D&D rules and knows about BG2, knows that the only way the game can be played enjoyably, IS by having a very good understanding of the 2nd Edition D&D rules.

Or fourth if you can count on one hand. I know a good deal about 2nd edition rules and I did play BG2 and BG back before I understood anything about it, and the only thing that really confused me was how less armor class made me harder to hit. So, it's arguably true, but I've heard of people who fully enjoyed the game without even knowing what magic missile really did.

The explaination still is pretty dumb, but it has nothing on Der Schwarze Auge, where you need to roll below your skill to get a success. (if you have 15 in mining, you need to roll below 15 to succeed on a d20. Rolling a 20, thus means a failure.)
