I'm Commander Shepard, and I have the worst voice actor on the Citadel.

Meer is fine. Why is this still on the front page? You don't like his voice? Don't play the game for all I care. Go away.

Hey, don't ask me. I abandoned this thread about an hour ago, figuring it would just die.

ok..sorry for bringing this topic back but i just wanted to say my opinion.

Male shepard sounds good to me...in every line..i see no problem with him..Fem shep on the otehr side ME1 and 2 sounds like she has a cold or something..can't belive she actually voiced Bastilla since i liked her voice in Kotor..but i still managed to play 2 times through ME2

Will someone contact the OP's family doctor, it appears he's either off his meds or needs the dosage adjusted, as it appears he's rather delusional.

Cleary this guy does not play renagde or Paragade, if he did he would know Meer does a fantastic job with those lines, better then Hale. Thisguy is just a Hale fanboy. Just ignore him guys.

Oh joy. More line-drawing. I don't see why liking MaleShep's voice means you have to crap on FemShep's voice and vice-versa. Both are excellent voice actors and it's just a matter of opinion on who you think is better.

personally I don't like maleshep voice, but it's not to the point where i hate it, and it's not like he did an bad job... prefer the femshep because it fits more IMHO. it all comes down to opinion.

This sums up my feelings on it. I don't think he did *bad* on any technical aspect of the acting, I just don't like the voice. I want to play a maleshep to romance Jack, but the voice bugs me for some reason I can't quite put my thumb on. So I haven't. But I reinterate, I don't think he did a bad job at it. It's acted just fine, I just don't like the voice.

Both where well done, I think it just depends on the player and the lines. Some lines Meer just plain sucks at, and some Hal just plain sucks at. Both did a good job, where they as good as the big VAs like Martin Sheen? No, but they did an ok job.

The monotone gives it an appeal so YOU can make Shepard what you want. He doesn't need to be eccentric just a slate from which your imagination creates the man in Shepard. Unless as I suspect the OP did you make the damn default your "hero".

I actually agreed with my friends' opinion: Meer makes a pretty strong Paragon voice, while Hale is the better Renegade.

Meer is able to inject a smile into his voice quite convincingly, and comes off as quite urbane and civil. Sure, he's a bit "flat", but it sort of goes well with the Paragon attitude of calmness.

Hale, on the other hand... I love her to bits, but every single line out of her has this underlying ruthlessness to it. I'm playing her as a Renegade at the moment and I have to admit, I honestly don't know if I could imagine her as a Paragon. Even some of the neutral responses seem to be spat out, growled out, purred out, or generally spoken with an edge of snark and superiority.

I can't see this at all. Hale does a way better job at a Paragon because she has such a calm voice and emotions, where alot of Meer paragon lines are bad or ok. For Renegade, Hale sounds forced while Meer sounds natrual. Look at lines like in the first game where you can tell the Turrian couniler to go to hell, Hale did a weak job at that. I cpull many Renegade lines that are very bad for Hale. I just can't see why people say Meer is good for Paragon and Hale is good for Renegade.

I agree with the OP but it was a little over top. Voice acting could have been better especially as a Paragon, its just not bad enough to call for some ones head over it. He just not at the level of the voice acting I heard comming from Miranda, Tali and Mordin, so it just does not sound as good by comparison. He did a decent job with the Renagade IMO.

Hmm, maybe I'm just interpreting her voice a bit differently. I *will* say that Meer does a much better job at being a Renegade this time around; I'd heard some of his ME1 Renegade stuff and it didn't seem as convincing as Hale.

I just find Hale to come over as much more sarcastic. She's also a bit... sexier, I guess? Not quite sexy, more predatory... which also seems to work well as Renegade.

I will say that I find Meer an absolute PERFECT fit to my Paragon custom Shep, to the point where watching Sheploo speak with Meer's voice doesn't seem right. He's definitely a talented actor, and I think he's doing an even better job this time around, though I can understand why he comes over as flat sometimes.

Just sounds forced, it's like when Shepard ask how Legion got that armor. Male Shepard ask's nice and polite with courosity, female Shepard ask's with anger in her voice which feels so out of place and somethings like the Tali council renagde option was way to force with Hale. Thats my opinion tho, each to there own I say. Both do a good job.

Hale is the better voice actor, and takes more chance on the direction of how she says her lines. Sometimes it comes off well and other times it fails.

Meer seems to play it safe by saying his lines monotonally and disjointed.

I can't get over some of Hale's bad lines and found Meershep's performance to be more agreeable.
