Also what bonus power is most effective foe an adept?
Right now I'm rollin with warp ammo cause I use Thane and Miranda mostly so I like it for the added squad damage but I'm thinking of mixing it up.
Any suggestions?

Sniper. The nice thing about snipers for biotics is that if you zoom in on an enemy that's out of range of your biotics and their health bar appears, you can target them with biotics through your scope, drastically increasing the range of your most important skills. As for a bonus power? I usually use warp ammo.
now that is interesting!

I used the assault rifle on my last insanity run. Reason being husks. I need to take their armour down asap for them to fall into my singularity.
Sniping is too slow to reload. Evisc is only 3 shots before a long reload and you tend to get swarmed by more than 3 husks at a time. And a single miss is often a lethal mistake.
AR is good balance of range & reload time and strips the armour off fast.

You're using the wrong sniper rifle. For classes that can't maximize dmg per shot (ie, can't do 1-shot kills), you should use the Viper as if it was a heavy pistol. Viper has a a 12 shot magazine and 48 shots spare ammo, which makes it better than carnifex, but deadlier, more accurate with twice the ammo capacity.
That said, using Viper this way overlaps its usage with heavy pistols. Shotgun and Assault Rifles gives you a wider range of utility... But i found my adept too squishy to use either on insanity run.

Well the first sniper rifle is good I feel and I still prefer it over wasp but I do like viper to some extent like I prefer using viper on my soldier because soldiers have tons of guns and no worries for ammo. A strong sniper rifle can work wonders if your playing a adapt with sniper training.Lake88 wrote...

But to be honest For my adapts I went assualt rifle and shotgun. assault rifle seems like a good overall choice because you can not only debuff guys very well but finish them off quick. Shotguns nice like when the guys shields are down you can pull or throw then blast the guy away.
However it seems snipeings a must in harder difficulties because I have been playing my level 30 second playthrough adapt (with assault rifle training) on Hardcore and couldn't beat the collecter vessel without lowering the difficulty level at the part with the platforms. I was getting mad at the AI badly and saying to myself "if I had sniper rifle training I think I would of sacked that scion first thing then worry about the harbingers and other guys".
I think it's all about personal preferance more than anything.
Also I havent finished my adapt with shotgun on Veteran yet to see if that was a good idea or not.
Warp ammo is good but I prefer either Barrier or Geth Shielding because I try to fight safe with my adapts. or at times suicidal like in the final area with the vent switches. I always bum rush past everything just to hit the switches.
PS: Is it normal on harder difficulties levels to have a 1 med kit revive 2 people and wind up loseing 2 med kits in the process? I swear on Normal 1 med kit revived 2 people and I only lost 1 med kit.
