Basically this is for all surviving squadmates to return. I myself, just like many others have loved all the squadmates from both Mass Effect games.

Who wants all the survivors from Mass Effect 1 and 2 to return in Mass Effect 3?!

I don't think Bioware raising squad mates from the dead is even a question.

Semantics will not help you here.

I think the 5 most popular squadmates should return to rejoin your squad along with you ME1 buddies and some new ME3 people. While the others might get cameos.

I think if Bioware puts to many squadmates in the game it will drain the experience.

Yup. Dragon Age has spoiled me so I am comfortable demanding a crazy amount of characters, dialogue and interaction. Make it happen, Bioware!

No thanks. If you love the ME2 squad so much, just keep playing ME2. I want a new batch of real soldiers this time. I hope that BioWare gets away from this comic book bullsh!t. No more psycho goofballs, useless assassins, justicars in crackwh0re outfits, incompetent boobs with oversize bewbs & bubble butts or 'pure' krogan test tube losers. I'd rather have a professional squad of Alliance Spec Ops guys & gals. If I'm supposed to be saving the galaxy then give me some people that are reliably competent and mature. I certainly don't want to hold their hands or have to provide a shoulder to cry on. If BioWare wants to do a cartoon super hero game then they should just go ahead and license some Marvel or DC Comic characters and get it over with.

Nuh-uh, nuh-uh! My favorite character deserves to be in the game more than yours!

Maybe you should just play Call of Duty.

I hope relevant characters return. It's safe to assume Shepard will be on the frontlines during the final fight, s/he needs to be surrounded by those likewise. I'm looking forward to some new blood, just please no more loyalty missions.

I really enjoyed many of the loyalty missions, but they would seem kind of out of place in the last act of the story.

I agree with Ray Joel Oh. It gave an insight to the character, deepening them.

I've said this before but....

I really think the best way for bioware to avoid the whole mess of who/how to bring characters into ME3 is to only allow imports on games in which all characters survived

Yes I agree but like Ray Joel Oh also said, it's the last act of the story. I don't think personal missions to gain the trust of Shepard's teammates should be a feature of the game, we're heading for the final stretch, let's concentrate on the Reapers/saving the Galaxy.

Besides Shepard can gain insight into other characters through conversation and travelling the Galaxy alongside them.

Anyone who doesn't support this is an ****.

Just going to throw that out there.

Whether or not they will do it, is anybody's guess.

I don't have a problem with still having personal missions though. The whole loyalty thing though seems to be better off left in ME2, agreed.

I'm can't see why all the characters who are still alive won't return in some way, shape or form, but if we're talking squaddies, then I think the more the merrier. :)

I think at least all the ME2 squaddies should be team members again. I mean, the point of the game was, in part, that Shep was building the team to stop the reapers. I'm thinking Liara and Kaiden/Ashley are probably well set for a comeback as well. I would LOVE Wrex to return, but it seems like life on his homeworld is pretty tying, and I could see him being an NPC using his ties to the Krogan forces.

The Mass Effect games are part of a trilogy. One of the benefits of a trilogy is that we get more time with the characters and can see them develop much deeper than a single game would allow. If the squad in ME3 is mostly new characters, then that is a wasted opertunity for intersting character insight, and we might as well be playing an entirely seperate game. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying 'no new squaddies in ME3', I just think that we should have the option of using the team Shep has already built.

Maybe (if people are concerned about too many 'slots') the game could be structred in such a way that you can have all the former squaddies back, but you can't have them all in the same playthrough. Like, you can only recruit so many before plot advances, or you have to make choices? That would have the benefit of adding more replayability to the game as well.

Hmmm.... late night makes me meander. In short:

I support all squadmates to return in ME3!

Well so ... what about this idea?

The characters return but not as squadmates and not as cameos? Like, you recruit someone for a specific task on the Normandy but you don't drag them around on missions.

For example: Mordin

I love Mordin's character but honestly what the hell are we doing dragging him around a battlefield. Really, the guy's getting up there in years for a salarian and he's way more useful in the lab than out fighting stuff. So we could have Mordin on the Normandy and we could interact with him but not make him a squadmate. It would cut down on the voice requirements as he wouldn't be required to have party banter.

This could work with other characters - like Tali and Liara - and please don't hate on me these are just possible examples and not what I think should actually happen. Tali could be the chief engineer and hang out in engineering and remain a full love interest and you could have many interesting conversations with her. Liara could be our information officer since at the moment she's very well set up for that. And just to clarify, I would like to see Tali and Liara return as squadmates in ME3 so again, these are just examples.

At any rate, it would help deal with part of the problem of having to voice many different squadmate conversation combinations.

Why? I have no interest in playing CoD. I want to play ME3 without the wacky, teen oriented, comic book crap. That whole Loyalist, Genius, Archangel, Joker, Riddler, Batman, etc,.. nonsense is just plain silly and juvenile.
