Has anyone noticed in DAO Final Battle that the action is sluggish and slow to respond? Game has run perfectly until that point. Getting tired of haveing my head handed to me, as a dwarf I am short enough. There seems to be a 30sec response lag.

I've finished the game many times, and have had no such issues. I'm on a PS3 though.

I've seen slowdowns at odd times, but they don't repeat when I try the same area again.

Happened to me as well. My party was very spread out and I wondered if this had something to do with it. Second attempt, I kept them tighter and it went very smoothly.

I have a similar problem. It's not that the frame rates drop, but it looks like commands are being ignored. Now that you mention a response lag, maybe there is a command queue that is borked. I love the game, but that last battle is no fun to play.

I found this too, in Denerim there is a lot going on, and my 4 year old processor couldn't handle it.

I took a potion and it showed my character drinking the potion, but it only gave me the health about 3-5 seconds later. As you can imagine this lag meant I died a few times even after drinking the potions which should have got me to good health.

I just need a new processor.

Try lowering your settings a bit just for the last part.
There is a lot of computer processing going on during the last battle.

However I didn't have any issues with the last battle.
So just to show what type of pc hardware seems okay: :)

windoze XP
Intel E8500 dual 3.2ghz
4gig RAM
ATI HD4870 512meg

I assume it's a matter of your system specs not being quite up to par for what the scene requires. I've had no such unresponsiveness in Dragon Age, but while playing Supreme Commander on my Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (before upgrading to my i7 920), I ran into an issue where the longer the game dragged on, the more and more sluggish my units were to respond to commands, eventually ignoring them outright. Probably a similar problem, and the only thing that fixed it was a hardware upgrade.

This is loaded on my company solid modeling PC, had to do it for the best graphics, but I'll see about dropping it back a little.

As for the game itself one of the better I have PC played being as I come from the Mech warrior world.

No dice dialed graphics, texture back disable the framebuffer. Same results. The first thing I had noticed was at the being of entering the city the health status of an opponent did not change as it was struck. Then suddenly the opponent drops. That has continued will experiment with a different attack point and see if it is a program segment.

I'm playing on the PS3, and at the beginning it is very laggy. After a while, the lag stops, but during that time the game is not playing so well.

What you are explaining sounds like the graphics hardward, cpu or memory of your pc cannot run the game properly, though why you havent seen this problem before the Final Battle seems strange as there are some pc demanding sections before that part of the game.
Lowering all your graphic settings definately should have helped.
You might get a solution if you try posting in the Technical help forum now. :)

To me it seems like a memory leak somewhere. In some cases my entire game crashed to desktop after being frustratingly slow for 5 - 10 minuites. I found exiting the game periodically helps smooth things out a bit.
