That said.

Husks = dead, reanimated corpses. As in they're dead. Whatever was being done to them while they were alive really doesn't apply anymore.

why do people make a big deal out of my name? im mocking all those cool internet people who like to call people trolls....prolly someone like you.

are you an algorithm for performing encryption, as well as whatever a cero is???

they are dead??? so whats the point of liquifying 100s of thousands of humans in order to make a human reaper? i dont think the reapers were trying to make glue.

how can we be sure you not a troll?

This must be your first video game. Killing human like zombie monsters in a video game has been around for awhile. If this disturbs you than this must be your very first video game.

Though if adding the ability to humiliate the player by being "slapped to death" as the next phase of evolution than I'm not sure we deserve to live. lol

The one thing missing from this thread is "What is the best way to destroy husks and Pratorians?".

Throw, Push, and Slam are my favorite for destroying Husks especially when these skills are evolved to allow for targeting groups.  These have a high regen speed and don't cost ammo.  Three people fighting in this way has Husk body parts flying all over.

A second method for fighting Husks is an SMG loaded with the Cyro Ammo.  You do run the risk of running out of ammo.  Still, this is a good back up for the first method.

Pratorians are a pain.  I still have not really found a weakness in them.  Heavy weapons (the Collector Particle Beam in particular) seem to be the final answer combined with Warp and Concussion Shots for your team.

Oh yes I say, destroy all the enemies made up of dead humans.  They wouldn't hesitate to kill you.

its not my first video game, but it is the first video game that made me think about what i was doing and why. i never worried about killing grunts in halo or locusts in gears because those games didnt allow for that. they gave me a gun and told me to use it so i wasted all those enemies without thinking twice. but ME is a different game in regard to choosing what or who to kill. a very different game.

no problem, im here to help. but dosent every single race in this game except hanar have "humanly figures?" so are turians and asari humans too?

why does everyone have to be a smart ass know it all in here? im embarassed for you all.

I did find it rather lacking that all the Husks were human males at least in what I‘ve seen of them. Topped off with the lame new Abominations, those wonderful fire/explosive breed. Are we playing ME or House of the Dead?

As for the ME1 version: “The husks will charge at their enemies and, once close enough, give off a powerful electrical blast which disables shields and causes massive damage.” versus the typical zombie ME2 “more advanced” ones. I just have to say its just BioWare thermal clip logic. Meaning its more advanced when your going backwards in technology/evolution.

I will add that I find it funny that the Scion husk looks rather similar to Halo’s Flood , the Carrier Form one.

Husks are DEAD humans, their unliving corpses turned to terror weapons. They are not alive, just machines with rotting flesh parts around. If you feel terrified around them, it only proves that they truly are effective as terror weapons. Defiling the dead and turning them to weapons, the concept is indeed disgusting. (and therefore awesome!)

Damn, with all this talk about terror weapons I got a need to play X-Com 1 again.

He's an obvious troll. He didn't even respond to anyone arguing with him in the thread; just those people outing him as a troll, or who said something that could be interpreted as a positive comment.

If you really wanted honest discussion, OP, you would have bothered debating with the numerous posters already taking the topic seriously. But you haven't.

Ignore this topic.

what???

ive responded to every post in here about husks being humans. i have a life outside of this mass effect forum meaning i dont live and breath "defending" my concern about husks actually being humans.

really, do you know what your talking about? or did you just read the last 4 posts and say "hey im gonna write some hate about theOP becasue i am so smart and i know everything about mass effect and i totally knew husks were humans. the OP is such an idiot for not knowing that. i am so cool. ive conqued 58 video games."

i love the fact that my screen name drives all you fools against me for no reason other then the fact that my screen name has the word troll in it.

if you dont have a comment related to this topic, then arent you in fact being the so called troll?

do you get off on calling people trolls? is that your fancy???

why do i have to defend my topic at all? this is a great concern to me.

As long as the Husks in ME 3 aren't shouting "Who's your daddy?!" as they slap us to death I'm good.

Sovereign was an entire ancient species, but I'm sure you had no qualms about killing him. Not to mention killing the baby reaper, who was hundreds of thousands of humans. Oh, and don't forget all the collectors you killed, who used to be a race that saved all current galactic life from certain annihilation.

we didnt know soverign was made up of a liquified species. same with the collectors being protheans(untill end game). but if im getting shot at, your going to get shot at too. which leads me to the human reaper.....

i didnt like killing the human reaper at all actually. it didnt do anything to harm me. i was forced to kill it by bioware. ive played the end of the game once, because i hate the fact that im killing something made up of humans.

i need to  make a comment about this. i actually forgot, or didnt really notice that the reaper was sucking stuff in and blowing it out at me. have you ever had those out of body experiences? this sortof happened to me playing the last part of the game. you find out all this terrible stuff the reapers were doing and then you see a human reaper and collectors who were once good guy protheans were trying to kill me and miranda was being a prude........i just got caught up in the reaper shinanigans that i somewhat "blacked out" while killing the reaper. that might sound weird but i LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE mass effect 1 and i just got so involved with ME2 and what was going to happen. it was just weird. i was also high which had alot do with me being out of mind durring that part too but nontheless it was definately an overwhelming feeling killing that reaper.

anyways, im not trying to waste anyones time here. i just thought nobody was making a big deal about the reapers being jerks to humans.

its a big deal to me atleast.

No, you have not. You've only responded to those whose words you could warp to fit your agenda, which appears to be stirring discussion on a non-issue. Whenever this was brought up, you pointedly ignored it. Every single time. Why would you do that, if you made an effort to respond at all, hmm?

i dont live and breath "defending" my concern about husks actually being humans.

Which is a non-issue, as noted. Again, your failure to address this at all smacks of your being disingenuous.

really, do you know what your talking about? or did you just read the last 4 posts and say "hey im gonna write some hate about theOP becasue i am so smart

I read the entire topic. How else would I be able to tell of your posting behavior here?

As for 'hate' bit: there's only as much you think there is, which I think is entirely an illusion of yours. Hate is an "intense animosity or dislike; an object of detestation or hatred". I do not hold that against you. Calling you a troll is not an example of such. It's a convenient label for individuals such as yourself who post on forums to rile up the population on trivial or pointless issues.

"...and i know everything about mass effect and i totally knew husks were
humans. the OP is such an idiot for not knowing that."

No kidding I knew husks were humans - this is pointed out to you the first time you run into them. In fact, this revelation is inseparable from your first encounter with them, because it's how they're introduced. This obvious fact makes is part of what makes it hard for anyone to take you seriously. Add to that your failure to address anyone pointing this out, indicates dishonesty. If your reasons for this thread were honorable, you should have at least told those saying your viewpoint held no merit to get lost.

i love the fact that my screen name drives all you fools against me for no reason other then the fact that my screen name has the word troll in it.

Hmm, I haven't said anything about your screen name. Perhaps you're confusing me with a couple others who have pointed out your act.

Oh, I see - you're lumping me with them. Disappointed in you, sir.

Now that you brought it up, though, I have to say that the name doesn't help your cause any, considering the nature of this topic.

if you dont have a comment related to this topic, then arent you in fact being the so called troll?

I don't need to comment on this topic. I've already pointed out how stupid/pointless it is. Why would I bother if I happen to believe this? I'm here to warn others of you.

do you get off on calling people trolls? is that your fancy???

No, I do not. Where do you get your evidence from? Have you been monitoring how I spend my time online?

All jokes aside, Bioware's forums seem to have problems with them. Too many people, not enough moderation. Hence the fact that many people around these here parts are a little jumpy when it comes to trolling.

why do i have to defend my topic at all? this is a great concern to me.

Because it's stupid? It addresses an issue that's made glaringly obvious the first time it's raised in the first game? Your topic's name is an obvious fact. Then, your opening post is just a rant, with no avenue for discussion other than asking if people had thought about it. Y'know, the obvious. Followed by a wish to get back at the Reapers, conveniently ignoring the second obvious fact about husks: they're dead human beings. So what's the problem?

Numerous posters touched on this. One even was even so direct as to point out how trivial it was. You ignored them every time, or warped what they said to advance your agenda ( which I've already pointed out earlier) and keep the topic running. You even attempted to change the topic halfway through to talk about the human Reaper, another non-issue, when someone brought it up.

That's classic troll behavior, sir. If you want to be taken seriously, I challenge you to answer the question of why you believe this to be an ethical dilemma at all (as was implied in your opening post) instead of evading it and answering whoever suits you.

good point. but the reapers werent liquifying anything but humans. they targeted humans for a reason. i dont know what that reason was, but if ME3 comes out and the council STILL wont listen to shepard, im gonna be reallllllyyyyy pissed off.

It's not a mystery why they chose humans. They make it quite clear throughout the game that humans are the most suitable species for Reaperdom.

That's what Reapers do every 50 000 years. They come back and pick the
best species going to make a new Reaper out of. And they didn't just target humans. They have been collected and experimenting on all life for quite a while to see which was the best one. It was only after they decided on sticking with humans that the mass-liquifying started.
