So, I am leaving my Xbox 360 for my pc. I went to direct2drive and bought Dragaon Age Origins, Awakening, Mass Effect, and Mass Effect 2. I have all but Awakening and Mass Effect 2 installed now. Awakening is downloading on comrade and for some reason Mass Effect 2 won't download.

I thought that I had what I needed to run the games to the highest spec yet, sadly I do not.

Here is what I have:

AMD Phenom II X4 810 Processor
8GB DDR3
750GB
DVD Burner
Windows 7 Premium 64-bit edition
Wireless LAn 802.11 a/b/g/n
ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics

I also have a 20" hp 2009m 16:9 LCD Monitor which I need a HDMI Cable for.

I was also going to get a bose speaker set.

my sound card is a Realtek High Definition Audio I believe.

I am thinking about getting a new monitor as well.

I'd like to be able to play these games on the best settings possible with out having to spend a fortune.

Integrated will get maybe the lowest settings By god why did you get 8GB of DDR3 ram and no graphics card???

you are not going to need 8GB of ram for gaming or almost anything at this point in time, well I got 4GB max out all game, and have never even hit my rams max amount.

http://www.newegg.co...16814130339135$ will max most games alrightBiggest badded mofos out therehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161335ATI 750$http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130551nVidia 530$
http://www.newegg.co...16814130434230$ GTX 260 This is what I got OCs like a champ maxes everything ME2 16xQAA

you can not go wrong with this for the price to performance
ATI HD 5770 190$ 850MHz core clock smokes my 260 even OCed but you lose physX and CUDA for OpenGL

You need a discrete graphics card. Integrated graphics are no good for gaming.
Read this and pick a card in your budget.

Will a 5770 and/or 5870 play DAO, DAOA, ME & ME2 at their highest setting and smoothly? And are you sure that I wouldn't need any other upgrades? And what's the diff between physX and CUDA and OpenGL? ( Sorry I'm not much of a tech head. Though, I'm sure changing to PC from Console will make me turn into one.) Oh yeah, would my sound card be good for a Bose speaker set?

The GPU sucks. Integrated graphics cards are usually nowhere near good enough to play videogames on decent settings. You really need a good dedicated video-card.

At which speed is your CPU clocked btw? The CPU should be good enough to run most games smoothly, depends on the Ghz.

As sure as the day is long, i.e. Yes.

Everything.
PhysX is a physics engine, but it's not as widely used as Havok. It runs on the CPU with ATi hardware, and on the GPGPU (yes, that's two GPs) with nVidia cards. It's caused some issues with ATi cards (such as when Mirror's Edge released) but I think most of that's sorted.
CUDA is something that, if you're gaming, you don't need to worry about.
OpenGL is similar to DirectX but it's not by Microsoft. The HD5 series support the most recent incarnation so you don't need to worry about it.

2.6GHz and it's a quad, it's fine.

Check out the previous generation of ATIs cards also. The 4800 series at the higher end are cheap and still hold up well with the 5x00 series. I have myself a similar intel based system to yours and my HD4870 runs pretty much anything i care too at full settings, 1600x900 res and 8x AA and 16x AF. Great card if you can find it.

OP, had you tried Can You Run It (choosing ME2 for instance) http://cyri.systemre...CYRI/intro.aspx ?

Wondering how accurate it actually is.

Your card = a 9600. Which isn't bad, but it won't let you play many of the newer games at maximum graphics.

I would highly reccomend you take it back for a refund and get an ATI 5770 or a nivida GTS 260
