To the OP: I'm not completely agreeing with you, especially with the point of dlc that has to be bought, but I agree with you in the point of the Firewalker in some parts.

-The design: While in ME1 endless deserts that just differed by texture where boring. Now we got a total linear gameplay that is even more boring. No exploration, but parcours.
The vehicle itself: The Hammerheads overall design is good, except this pityful bar on the back that show's us the mining-progress or is moving like in Knight Rider if the Hammerhead-VI speaks.
Also firing missiles out of a cannon is quite senseless. I'd prefered some missile-batteries.

-Movement: Perfect. I'm absolutely happy witht the way the hammerhead moves, jumps and straves. Agile and very fast.

-The combat-system: Grotesque. Search a cover in the landscape and do the following: Jump->Shoot->repeat from jump.
The enemies don't move at all and sometimes you can be out of the AI-detection-range and just shoot at them in open field.
The missiles are a nice idea, but I'd prefer the good old Mako-Weapons: Straving with the MG and sometimes use the big one. The missiles could be implemented too, but more like the big gun of the Mako.

So about buying DLC's: We got the Firewalker-Pack for free. It was just five mission that where mostly boring(although I liked the last mission), but it was free.
I certainly agree with you, that the design of the missions wasn't what BioWare is capable of.
About Kasumi-DLC to buy: I won't complain about that, until I see what's the content/cost-quote for it.

And now to all those guys complaining about the criticism to the Firewalker-Pack:
Sure, it was free.
But if someone doesn't like it, he/she is free to speak about it.
Sometimes those criticism leads to great ideas that are implemented in later games.
If the OP mentions his/her reasons for the criticism, why not?
If it's a thread like: "Firewalker-DLC stinks!" and nothing more, no reason just one sentence, then it's just stupid.

Ok seriously, how do people still think that this pack is above criticism because it was "free". The only reason it was free is because the devs knew it should have been included in the original game and it should have been a much larger aspect of the game, instead of the cop out it is now.

Instead of saying "its free stfu or quit crying" etc., how about someone actually face the truth of what I said when I described the low quality of the missions, the horrible gameplay quality and the ultimate betrayal on the part of the devs.

Dont forget, the Devs kept saying "Quality over Quantity" and now we are given this steaming pile of shi* and told by others that since it is free it is irrelevant if my pc now smells of shi*.

My main point in saying that Bioware has lost integrity through the implementation of their DLC is the fact that they are releasing half assed attempts at DLC that should have been part of the main game and developed to a much higher degree of quality and professionalism.

So far, Ive seen mostly only fanboys and immature prepubescent tweens answer me in the form of "Its free stfu" which , guess what, means you either didnt read anything of what I said after "The DLC sucks" or simply are a fanboy.

Read and understand what I said and you should be easily able to find truth in much of what I wrote.

I think the "It's free" reasoning is mostly valid. Imagine someone gives you a brand new car, for free. However, the car isn't the color you want, it isn't the type of transmission you want, and it isn't the car brand you want; are you really going to complain about it?

Yes, BioWare needs the constructive criticism, but when people just say it sucks because it's too short, boring and linear, how is that constructive?

But you would want the car to have all it's wheels in place, wouldn't you? And, maybe,  an engine?!

After ME1, I wanted to take the Mako through a jungle. No Mako! Ok, we have the Hammerhead. In a DLC, two months after release. No jungle! Just some platforming and a "get there quick or freeze to death!" mission (I know this from somewhere, hmmm). And there's such a nice rain forest on the planet with the loyalty mission for Jack...Or the Hanar homeworld (or other water worlds), where you could leapfrog/hover on the surface of the ocean. Or follow a waterfall down a cliff...

There are so many cool things that could have been done with the HH, if it would have been included in the original game . To bad they stuck it in DLC format.

If ME2 is any indication, I don't doubt it's as bad as you say. But Bioware needs to focus on improvments for ME3 so it's as great as the original, a free DLC isn't really important.

The HH is allegedly a test on how people respond to it. Everbody telling us "whiners" that its free so shut up are actually giving false feedback to the developers. I wouldnt call the HH a steaming pile of manure, but it is way below the standard of the ME universe. Considering the fact that it took Bioware 2 months to release it, I think it was reasonable to assume that it would have been polished to a level of at least acceptable, which it failed to do.

This DLC is horrible shepard is stronger than the tan, missions are
dull
and stupid, no ability to save during missions, tutorial pop
messages
tell you to use the wrong buttons, controls are more clunky
than
the mako from ME1, no ability to leave tank to do feet on the
ground
reconnaissance, to conversation chatter in the tank, and no
ability
to talk to team members. The DLC made me feel like I was playing
a
higher graphic version of combat from the atari 2600, the difference
being
I think the controls from combat were better than this DLC.

The
DLC is free so there is not much room to complain to much. That being
said though as far as I know unless you pre-ordered the game the Cerbeus
network costs 1200 bioware points for the pc. So in a around about way
you pay for the extra content.

All this being said the DEV's need to know what people did not like about the DLC so if they improve it for ME2, or include a better version for ME3 they have the feedback to go off of to make it worthwhile.

How can it be possible to see so many people answering by "it's free".

It's not free !

Included with a new version of the game doesn't mean free. At best, it's included in the main game.

So, as I may complain about planet scanning or anything else in the game, I can complain about the HH.

And we are right to do so.

Who the hell could even imagine this HH will come without a health bar/shield information ?

No Hud

No Savegame

No possibility to leave your vehicle as it was possible with the Mako.

Only corridor mission

Weapon system far from good.

Weaker than shepard himself.

If this mod was not an official mod (as we see a lot on Dragon Age), people would have requested improvements. As this mod is official, people shall complain because it's far from the quality we could expect from an official Bioware DLC.

It can hardly be called Hammerhead betatest version...

Really, I'm surprised that so many people do not feel insulted by this stuff.

I try not to be offended just for the sake of being offended.  Also Shepard could not take on two colossus's on open terrain without cover with the same success as the HH.

Also No Hud = I like, but the HH should smoke or give some visual indicator of damage
No Savegame = Slightly annoying but the missions are short
Corridor mission = This was a demo more or less, showed you how it would work on various combat scenarios
Weapon system is annoying

A game demo is free.
A video on youtube is free.

As you pay the main game, and that the HH is not distributed to anyone who don't pay the game new or didn't pay a CN card, it's not free. At best, it's included in the whole price. But I already told it and I'm not sure people like you are ready to let their fanboyism behind for a piece of wisdom.

Yes it sucks. Yes the only fun part about it was driving the HH. It's free so stfu already. Image IPB

If you had paid for this DLC then by all means yell at the top of your lungs about how ****ty the DLC was, BUT since the thing is free it does not warrent the 163417238261842 threads  that are already open on the subject.

If Burger King gave you a free hamburger and it turned out to be medicore, kinda crappy, hamburger would you go to the internet and make threads about how horrible that hamburger was? No you'd throw the piece of **** hamburger away and go on with the rest of your life.

It's a videogame. If free DLC for a videogame works you up so much you need to get out and enjoy your life just a tad bit more.

Because Bioware releasing crappy free DLC is TOTALLY the equivalent of them walking to your house lowering their pants and dropping a duece on your forhead right???
