Not only is Firewalker completely free, it's likely just testing the waters, seeing how well it goes.

If Firewalker and the Hammerhead do well, we'll likely see a lot more of it, and possibly improvements on the Hammerhead itself.

Which people will likely have to pay for. I have no problem paying for DLC, but I'd like it to be RELEVANT. Relevance is something that hasn't even been vaguely touched up on in this cerberus ****work scheme. Just some lame armor (no helmet toggle is boggle), a random shotgun. a baffling alternate appearance pack, and some random heavy weap that much like all the others, is still useless compared to the cain.

In short --- NOTHING that has anything to do with the Mass Effect story.

Edit: Forgot Zaeed, but he's pretty forgetable as well.

yeah you are right the normandy crash site wasn't relevant to the mass effect story at all...

I want to derail this thread.

Hey guys remember in the 90's when game demos would cost money? Like 5 bucks for like three demos?

Or when those ****S Eidos released a "special" edition of Deus Ex that was 10 bucks. MOTHE****ERS

I got my demos with Mag subscriptions! SCOORE!!! Long live EGM!

My only rebuttle for this is.

If someone took a dump in your hands and called it free, would you complain?

no, because its free?

Because Bioware releasing crappy free DLC is TOTALLY the equivalent of them walking to your house lowering their pants and dropping a duece on your forhead right???

Possibly the sorriest reasoning I've come across as to why Bioware's work is suddenly above criticism.

Yeah, when something that should have been in the game in the first place is free it's suddenly above all critiscism?

I agree that it was to short and to linear.

I'm beginning to believe that game development goes something like this these days:
Make the following tiny selection of weapons and armors:
1. Pistol
2. Pistol
3. Rifle
4. BFG
5. Sword
6. Blue Armor
7. Red Armor
8. Black armor

then someone goes, Hey, let's make 1, 4, 7 and 8 into a DLC, we'll look like good guys for giving out free stuff!
And those who don't get the DLC will be stuck with an incomplete game because some exec doesn't want to make new stuff into DLC's and just uses original content for it...

It's like selling a vacuum cleaner and then forcing the customer to pay to get access to the store that gives you a power-cord. or pay for a power cord.

Here's the thing if you replace the Mako with the Hammerhead in the First ME you would have the same complaint becaue the HH is just much faster than the Mako.

Its basically the same problem that Sega has when making modern Sonic the Hedgehog games.  Its harder to make a long experience because it would require LARGE HUGE levels that would take along time to develop so unless they did the experience would not last that long.

Well personally , when i first saw some vehicle entries in the key binding screen, to realize at the end of the game that it wasn't implemented yet ... it was like a big "WTF" ...

So what ? Is it normal that the game we bought came out like a fu**ing puzzle with missing pieces, and that they're trying to turn the due content into an "additional content ( and sometime free of charge) " ?

Damn straight! So these people are saying that they'll allow Bioware to churn out bad work if its free?

So, if Bioware made Mass Effect 3 the absolute worst game ever, but it was for free, you guys would be okay with that, right? <_<

ok my turn,

First off OP great job ive been making posts kind of like this. Giving my honest thoughts about the games .And some of the less liked featurs . like the scanning planet time sink BS But you really did go a little over board for the few points you had to make . ( can you say beating a dead horse much ) sorry i just call them as i see them . Great honest feelings and reviews about the product in question though regardless if its payed for or not . here is an example.

e.g Say your taking a driving trip across the country but you need some new tires . And come across a shop giving away a free set of brand new tires . You think hell ya now you have money to buy tickets for that cowboys game when you are driving thru Texas. You go for it in a heart beat. And off you and the family are , lifes great . Your now 2 states away . And you start hearing thunk ...thunk thunk....thunk the car starts getting harder and harder to drive . and getting worse by the second .the tires are loosing its thread in chunks to a point where you hear bang....bang bang . Three of your tires just blew out And your now stranded in arizona on the side of the empty highway and its hella hot . (what you going to do)

But hell your not going to complain about the tires huh. Shoot no because they were free remember.... um wrong your going to be ****ing up a storm and you know it . every single one of you will be. Because a product is a product just because its free it doesnt mean you lose the right to give your assesment of the product . Otherwise the company might just start selling the same tires to the biggest semi truck company . Because nobody told them the truth about their products faulty design .

Because ( 1) They were free and ( 2) you just loved the company so much you diddnt want to say anything bad about them , that might break their will, to the point that they stop all together or something bad . or for what ever reason you might have . So now thats what they are making all the time a bad product and almost every semi on the road has these bad tires . Hell they dont know any better everyone keeps buying them . DAM you think to yourself i should of told them the truth instead of coddeling them. maybe their product wouldnt be crap now . And the danger that could lead to .

OK now onto all the spamming going on . OK now say you have 1 guy saying/making the same thing /topics 15 times = 15 threads On the other side you have 15 guys saying/responding with the same responce = 15 times per thread All you guys are doing is spamminganswers and he is spamming topics . How is that any different? spam is spam ? repeated usless things .they have no value to try and prove his point wrong . Because every time he makes a thread you guys are always right behind him spamming the same answers " oh stop complaining" "it was free" OK so if someone says it was free no big deal . that has value as a responce the first time only .

But thats it dont just do a quote of the guy above and go what he said thats spamming an answer. absolutly no value what so ever after the first time said. BUT to be honest really you guys are worse then the one making the threads because , for every 1 time/topic of his there are 15 spam answers of yours . Thats your 225 answerspams to his 15 spammed topics , and you guys call him a spammer .Or are you going to say he is forcing you to respond every time he posts? if so then you guys are tools as well on top of answerspammers.

OP Your post is 300 times better then alot of the other fanbois blind praise posts ,that say nothing negative even thought they most likly they do have some negative they( could )say. They just dont want to hurt the devs feelings . Well they are hurting more then their feelings they are allowing the devs to kill themself . So who is the better fan then ? You know who are, its the ones you guys keep answerspamming all the time for saying anything negative. Those so called trolls are helping the company more then you guys are by far. ( but not the real trolls ) This was easy to see it wasnt a troll . trolls dont add that many valid points.

OP i can tell you love this dev . And you come across as really kind of worried of late with the end product from BIOWARE. Its nice to see a few still are around not blinded so much, to just give a surgur coated review just because your a fanboi you want to try and let them know , hey BIOWARE somethings are not cool that you guys are doing . Your doing a great job OP keep it up And just think OP you are one of them, from the same fanboi group as the ones attacking you .

IM not , so try and guess how they treated me in my threads. lol Man it was hot in most of them. But i dont really care and am civil most of the time . it all depends on how my BIPOLAR / ADD / HYPER / DEPRESSED self is feeling at the time. sometimes im not in the greatest of moods. BUT i never falls into the fanboi blinding trapp.

I go buy the rule that i dont care how good/epic your last game may have been . Your still going to have to prove yourself with the next game and every other game after that .no free passes from me

. i ve seen it before were a dev comes out with a great epic game then a total bomb next time but its answered away some lame way of another . And just ignored like its not there or never happened. And then we all suffer in the end because of it that staying quiet does not help. you all should start giving honest reveiws and feedback even about the smallest things because the squeeky gear is the one that gets greased . Your not complaining or ****ing YOUR HELPING

when you complain believe it of not .( thats only if they are listening though)

Now on to EA

i think EA is up to something. i get this strange feeling about the things they have been doing lately. i just cant figure out how to describe it yet but i will try. Here goes first they have been giving away alot of stuff away in the last 6 months dont you think ? Thats strange right there for EA being ALL $$$ hungry like they are. They give some free DLC away, then sell some stuff , give some more DLC , and then sell us more . IVE got it, i know what it seems like ? IMO . its like something a dealer would do . give some stuff away . WHY ?so they get customers used to having something to the point where they will take/buy anything you sell them

So its like we are being treated like game addicts and it feels like EA is setting themselfs up as the dealer . I might not have it right, LOL its really close but it sure as hell addds up alot like it. They are planning something shady . kKnd of like the one battlefeild game where they actually put spyware in the game code . And said it was going to be for in game advertisments on billboards in the game that would be able to cater to things we would be interested in from feedback from the spyware about the sites we visit. Something really odd is going on i think .

And please spare me the comments about my grammer .And the like. not everyone grew up in a leave it to beaver household. i hardend myself in the 3 grade by comming to the conclusion i better take care of myself if i was to make it in life . because the family wasnt doing it . so my schooling suffered . a bit was more focused on how to get food thanks but im aware i have poor grammer . but its good enough to understad

thats just another useless no value reply. made by alot of you said to OP's

PS And to let you know i' m not sticking around so no need to flame me : ) enjoy i hope it gets thru to some of you . yes i know i can be harsh but the truth is hard to swallow sometimes

and i agree with your little sig there SKULLANDBONES it is a sad state we are in : (

There is cut content in the way it is usually done, cut from a project and work stops on them and the product is made without said content. They may or may not be included in directors cuts or as bonus content, depending on the level of interest.
Then there is cut content that is removed from the project with every intention to put it in at a later date. This kind of cut content is meant to have been included in the intial product but without it the product will feel shallow and incomplete.

Thats pretty much what I said though.  It was cut and released as a demo just to justify the CN, who knows how much work they put into it when it was decided that it wouldn't make launch.

Just a notion that after some current event(s) more people will be able to see the distinction between free for all and free for some. As well as being free is not an excuse to not talk about something.

Nobody is saying that free =/= opinions. They are saying free =/= BS Indignation.

Reading posts about this topic(Firewalker) there is an undertone from many posters that since it is free invalidates others opinions if they are negative.

Indignation is subjective.

Is simple, the firewalker pack is a DLC NOT an EXPANSION, and also, as adriano_c wrote: "Its free, don't complain"

A slap in the face is free as well.
Some people would have a complaint, while others would smile and ask for more.
There are a few very valid complaints;
no health display, a problem for deaf gamers and people that prefer health displayed
mis-mapped keys in the PC tutorial
no saving in the mission.

It's funny how people keep coming up with "comparisons" that are nothing like whats happening here.

"You'd complain about free tires that break!"
"You'd complain about a free slap to the face!"
"You'd complain about a free pile of **** on your hands!"

What, is this thread a reunion of Strawman arguements R Us or something?

Yes people getting mediocore free DLC is completely equal to getting faulty tires which could kill you, a slap to the face which would hurt you, and someone ****ting on you, which some freaky people might find sexy. Mhm. Flawless internet logic at work.

The logic that is spawned from "it is free so don't complain" is a direct reflection of the fallacy of that statement.
